Story
Hi there, my name is Vanessa and I'm about 11 months old. I'm a really pretty young girl. If you have seen my pictures my coat is a reversed brindle. I a DNA test and it summed up I am a Pittie but mixture of many other dog breeds. What does that mean? I'm your All-American Mutt but I'm a smart All-American Mutt. But my foster Mom calls me silly and a Beauty. It's hard to tell by my pictures but as I mentioned my coat is a reversed brindle. I look big in the pictures, but I am not. I only weigh 46#s. I'm done growing unless of course I get lots of treats which what dog doesn't like. I was found as a stray when I was a puppy. I didn't know where my home was, so the AC Handlers brought me to a TN shelter. I got my Freedom Ride from Treasured Animal Rescue. Boy! That was a long ride. So many doggies & cats drive for like forever up North. I saw my foster Mom when she opened the van, and I wasn't scared. I knew right then I my future is going to be much better than what I had in TN. I'm in a foster home that has other foster dogs that are close to my age or size, and we play all day long. We sleep in our own crates and I'm a good girl and don't make a mess. I will give out a yip or a bark when I need to go potty. I love getting my food in my crate and I look for more when the other dogs are done. Who would have thought being a foster doggie I would be so pampered. There are also cats that live here. The resident cats are very dog savvy so they know how to respond to a dog like me who once in a while will bark at them. The foster kitties are learning from the resident cats that dogs bark and speaking of my bark - it's loud! I'm normally a quiet girl but when I have to tell you something, like go outside to do my business or I see the Mail Lady I will bark. I know SIT and give PAW. My best command is "Vanessa, be pretty". Gees, that's a no brainer. I like to spend my day hanging outside but if it's hot out I want to be indoors or under a tree with shade. I like to find one of many doggie bones and enjoy the fresh air with my bone. I don't mind if the other dogs take my bone away or sit next to me. I like to share. I will get zoomies once in a while too but after my zoomie spell is done, I then chill out. I like to lounge around on the couch or by your feet. One day I am going to have a forever family of my own. While I wait for my family I will play with the other dogs and learn new things. When I meet my forever family we can go for a walk, and I will show how well I listen and walk on a leash. Maybe when you bring me to your house, I will have my own doggie bed, or I can curl up on your lap when you watch TV. I will always be your loyal pup because you chose me, and I promise to make you laugh. Can't wait to meet you! Vanessa Vanessa was tested and treated for heart worm. She has received a clean bill of health from our vets. Heart worm is all gone! She will need to be on heart worm prevention for the rest of her life; like any other dog needs to be. S Vanessa is located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Kai…. I’ve had this big goof ball since he was 8 weeks old. He is such a great dog! Very intelligent member of the family. I could write you an entire book on him but I will try to hit the main points. Characteristics: Very smart dog that does need regular exercise. He’s good around other dogs but prefers to play with people more. He loves playing fetch and will work to get that ball all day long. He loves the beach and water but doesn’t like bathtubs (which never made sense to me) He does listen very well to commands! He does know a good handful of commands. He’s good with kids as young 3 years old. He’s a good guard dog as well but he’s never been aggressive to anyone ever. They do have incredible instincts. He loves walks, runs and exploring. He is a very adaptable dog and I can give you every single detail needed to have a successful rehoming. Recommendations: Backyard, plenty of exercise and other dogs to play with.

Story
Meet Tank, a 3-year-old (DOB: 5/28/21) beautiful boy! He is 50% American Pit Bull Terrier, 22.5% Gray Wolf, 11.3% Alaskan Malamute, 8.3% German Shepherd, and 7.9% Siberian Husky. He is up to date on all his shots, is on a heartworm preventative, and currently weighs 60 pounds. We’ve had him since he was 3 months old, and he is good with other dogs but has never been around a cat. He is good with family and children. I would describe Tank as a Velcro dog in that he will always be by your side, most likely sitting on your foot. If you move from one place to the next, he will always follow. Tank is housetrained and crate trained. When he needs to go out, he will tell you with a fierce stare down, or he will nudge you if you don’t notice the stare down until you pay attention and take him out. While he is crate trained, he will typically go to bed on the floor in the bedroom. However, in the morning he is always found in the bed. When it’s time to leave, all you need to do is say “crate” and he will go in there for the duration. I do not have a fenced-in yard and that has not presented any issues as Tank doesn’t like to be left alone. He did live with us for a short period with a fenced in yard, but he really didn’t want to spend time in the yard as he wanted to come in shortly after being let out. I am looking to rehome Tank because while he is such a sweet boy, he needs someone with more patience and strength than I have. He is presently on doggie Prozac because many things make him nervous and he is high anxiety. People hear and see Tank and they most likely get nervous. But, Tank is more afraid of everyone than they realize. He barked at my female neighbor and her daughter, but because she loves dogs she wanted to come see him. Tank took off running up the stairs because they scared him. He is afraid of garbage cans on garbage days. He is afraid of boxes. He is afraid of sudden moves. He is afraid of things that are held in your hand if he has not seen it before. He will run away with his tail tucked. He seems to be more timid of men rather than women. I have been pulled up/down the stairs outside because something scared him. Tank is definitely a chewer when it comes to toys. We have the power chewer BarkBox because fluffy toys and Tank do not mix. He likes car rides but will drool up a storm in the back seat. He loves belly rubs and overall family attention. He does shed, so you will have to deal with the hair clean up. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $150. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
