Story
Meet Mia & Duqueza! These ladies are a mother and daughter pair who were pulled from a crowded city shelter where they were at risk of euthanasia unless a home or rescue stepped up to save them. We were happy to step in and give these intelligent and sweet ladies the forever they deserve! Mia is about 5 years old and Duqueza is about 3 years old and they are both full of a lot of life! They originally were living as outdoor farm dogs, but were dropped at a high kill shelter when their family found out they had to move and decided they did not want to bring them along. Mia and Duqueza will do best in homes without young children that can provide them the training and exercise their breed requires. They are selective about their canine friends, so will require a proper dog introduction. Breed experience is always strongly preferred! They have been working diligently with our behavior tags and have done wonderful (see videos!). They are going to thrive in a home that can continue their training, and allow them the time they need to earn their trust. As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. There adoption fee for each one of these ladies is $100 thanks to a generous donor If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org
