Kira

American Pit Bull Terrier Mixed Breed (Medium)

Female, 7 yrs 9 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kira is a sweet and affectionate girl who despises staying outside. She's mastered house and crate training and will willingly go into her crate when directed. She can break out of wired crates, but typically does good. Despite being deaf, Kira understands hand signals for commands like "sit" and "quiet." She is great with kids and strangers but prefers to be the only pet in the home. She's not fond of cats and does not do well with dogs. While she enjoys tearing up toys, Kira is well-behaved otherwise and has a higher-pitched bark when feeling anxious. She's not shy about letting you know when she wants attention and happily smiles when her belly gets rubbed. Kira is a pro on the leash and loves car rides, making her an ideal companion for outdoor adventures. She does not like baths and will try to escape while receiving one. Although she has skin allergies and a lump that needs assessment, she's spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative.

Tazmania

American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, 6 yrs 1 mo
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Tazmania was adopted from us in 2021 and returned because she was going after the neighbor's cats. She is extremely people friendly and does well with older kids(younger children unknown). She does not need to be homed with cats or smaller animals as she has a high prey drive. She did okay with another female dog, but we do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current house hold dogs. Because of how emaciated she was when she was returned, she may resource guard her food and should be fed in her own area. She can be strong on a leash but settles pretty well if no distractions are present. She may be potty trained as her kennel is usually clean, but we do always recommend a refresher course. She does okay while crated. Tazmania is spayed, vaccinated with DHPP and Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. She does need a rabies vaccination.

Maizel

American Pit Bull Terrier Mixed Breed (Medium)

Female, 5 yrs 4 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Maizel was surrendered because the family had a baby and could not keep her anymore. She needs a secured fence if she is going to be an outdoor only dog as she will chase livestock. Her previous owner stated she was good with other dogs and loves playing with them, however while being here she has been aggressive towards the other dogs. She may do fine once out of here. A meet and greet is always highly recommended with any current house hold dogs as well as our foster program. She has never met a stranger and has done great with kids. She has not been around cats. She is housetrained, crate trained, and does well being left alone inside. She has, however, jumped our chain-link fences while loud noises are happening around her, so a secure fence is highly recommended. She rides well in the car and knows basic commands. She has not been on a leash often the past few years and is getting used to it. Maizel has received a DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. She is due for a rabies vaccination.
