Story
Prior to coming into the shelter North was picked up as a stray. It's clear that wherever North was before being a stray, he was taught basic commands such as sit, stay, shake, and heel; these are rusty now due to his trauma of apparently being abandoned and being in a shelter waiting for a forever home. He is not housetrained but has responded well to efforts to teach him. North will go into his kennel on his own when directed and sleeps through the night without whining or barking. He loves to play catch, fetch, chase, and tug-o-war. He was taught to be gentle even in play and it is apparent he was around children due to being so gentle but this is not known for sure. He really needs to have a fenced in yard where he can run, play, and get his energy out. The big reason for needing an experienced adopter is that he does not do well on a leash and needs professional training to be safe in public. Indoors he is an incredible dog, gentle, eats well, listens, cuddly, and affectionate.

Story
Chocho is a 2 year old German Shepherd Great Pyrenees mix. She is an amazing dog who loves to be outside and roam, play and have fun. She is an escape artist but not by jumping she sneaks out with her sister who is a Great Pyrenees. ChiCho is an amazing dog and well loved, we are sad to rehome but are moving and the new area does not allow dogs and also does not have a yard for ChoCho to love her best life. She is not aggressive at all, loves kids but has not been around toddlers. Also never been around cats but does love dogs! She will chase birds and squirrels in the yard.

He loves to play laser tag. He has a lot of energy. He gets along with other dogs . He does bark at cats. He's good around kids but doesn't know personal space. He loves being outside and walking the perimeter of the fence. He also will stand guard. He has learned to sit and stay for meals until prompted to go ahead and eat. He does well on a leash. He's also kennel trained with treats. He enjoys laying at your feet and follow you around. He's very smart and a fast learner. Est DOB: 3/17/2024 Interested? Story
We rescued Leo 10+ years ago, and he's been an excellent dog since. He's a mix of three working breeds - German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, and Bluetick Coonhound - and will be 12 years old in January. He's extremely obedient and smart, and needs 20-30 minutes of daily physical and mental exercise. He is very much a German Shepherd, and loves looking out a window during the day. He loves snuggling on the couch. We are rehoming Leo because he is not good with our one-year old child. He is not patient when the baby crawls on him, and has had an episode of snapping (no actual bites have occurred). Leo does not belong in a home with young children. He needs to be in a home - no apartments - with adults who will meet his exercise needs and treat him well in his later years. He gets spells of anxiety from time to time, and any new owner would need to be patient with him. We love him and don't want to re-home him, but our infant is priority one.
