Story
Introducing Tulane, the ultimate cuddle buddy and your future best friend! This sweet Shepherd mix is all about love and affection—he’ll happily snuggle up in your arms and shower you with warmth whenever you need it most. Tulane is a big fan of being close to his humans, and once he feels comfortable, you'll discover an incredibly loyal companion who’s always by your side. Whether it's a quick snuggle session or just being in the same room, Tulane thrives on love and connection. Tulane is already house-trained and crate-trained, so he’s ready to settle right into your home. While he’s friendly with other dogs, his herding instincts mean he’s better suited to being an only dog or with other patient pups who can teach him boundaries.  Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but with a few lifestyle adjustments, he’s still an active and joyful dog. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, but this doesn't keep him from living life to the fullest—he’s great at finding ways to entertain himself without putting stress on his knee. If you're looking for an affectionate, and incredibly loyal companion, Tulane is the one for you! With him by your side, you'll always have a furry friend to keep you company and fill your heart with joy. Take this sweet soul home and let him bring love and warmth into your life. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 10, 2025, 12:55 pm

Story
Meet Brodie, a spirited and lovable 1-year-old German Shepherd ready to steal your heart! This handsome boy is not only house-trained and kennel-trained but also a dream to walk on a leash. Brodie's favorite pastime is playing fetch, and his treat-motivated nature makes training a breeze. Like any playful pup, he’s curious about the world and loves to explore with his mouth, but he’s making fantastic progress with the "leave it" command.   Brodie is a social butterfly who thrives on playtime with other dogs and kids, making him a perfect fit for an active, family-oriented home. While he hasn’t met any cats yet, his friendly and eager-to-please demeanor suggests he’d be willing to learn the ropes. This sweet and smart pup is excited to find his forever family and share a lifetime of love, loyalty, and fun. Could it be you?   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Tyr is a male Siberian Husky born approximately 4/21/20 who recently came to us from a Reservation. He has a lot of energy and loves to play with our other dogs. Tyr also likes to spend time outside even when it is cold. Despite having the energy level of a young husky, he is also perfectly happy to curl up next to or on the lap of one of his favorite humans to watch a movie or two. Tyr ignores our cat most of the time. The cat can play and be naughty beside him, and Tyr leaves him alone. However, we noticed that Tyr can be selective when it comes to new dogs. Proper introduction is highly recommended. Another thing to note is Tyr can be food reactive. If there are other dogs or people nearby and he is eating, he may react.  Tyr treats his crate as a safe space and will go in willingly if the door is left open or for short periods of time for a time out, but he does not like to be left in the crate. He will hurt himself trying to get out of the crate if left for a long time. He will likewise pee in the crate. If we have to go on errands, we leave him in the house with our other dogs. We found out that being left by himself, despite not being in the crate, causes separation anxiety. He will try to get out of the house by chewing and clawing at doors and siding. He will also try to chew doorknobs. Sadly, the one incident of doorknob chewing damaged his canine and it had to be extracted. Tyr will need dental care to make sure his teeth do not get damaged further.  When it comes to feeding, we suspect that his previous owner fed him in his crate since he does not eat much from a dish left out in the open and seems to feel more secure eating in the crate. Tyr knows basic commands like sit and shake. He will tell you if needs to go potty.   Since Huskies tend to have a high energy level and separation anxiety, we think he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is able to provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. If not around most of the time, it will be better for Tyr to go to a home with another dog that he can bond with to ease his separation anxiety.  A home with a fenced-in yard will be the most ideal forever home for Tyr. He is an extremely talented escape artist and sees escaping as a game. He will not return even if you call out to him. Chasing him will make him run faster and further away.   As you can see from the pictures, he is a gorgeous black and white husky with one blue and one brown eye. He is also very fluffy and soft... perfect to cuddle with! If you think Tyr is the right dog for your family, please submit an application today!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
