Story
Hana is a ten year old Shiba Inu. This girl had the only world she ever knew torn away from her when she was given back to her breeder after living in a home with her person for the last ten years! Hana is sweet and spunky and likely has some adjusting to do where ever she lands! She deserves to live out her years with someone who will commit to the end of her days and spoil her like the queen she is! Dog Adoption App https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Floss found himself living in a cage after being found wandering as a stray. At approximately nine years old, this frightened guy needed our help. His future was uncertain and time was ticking. No one came for him so we were the lucky ones who whisked him away and into our care! This guy blossomed before our eyes. That sad, scared boy in the kill shelter was replaced with a happy, affectionate, playful pup! This very friendly boy is always smiling! He can be a bit shy at first but warms right up. He would prefer to have companionship and would do best in a home with another dog or person who is home alot. Floss is great with dogs and kids. He seems to get overly excited around cats. All he wants is belly rubs and to know he is loved! He is the total package!!

Story
Bubbly Blondie requires your attention please! She wants people to know that just because she's broken hearted, she will love you with her whole heart for as long as she has. Blondie is a sassy yet sweet girl. She is a redheaded spitfire! She does not like cats, and can be dog selective. She prefers the company of male dogs. The bigger, the better, as she likes to rough house and tumble around with them. Who doesn't love it when the fellas chase us? Blondie does have cardiac issues. She has been diagnosed with multiple heart issues. She has a grade 5-6 heart murmur. She has a hole in the septum of her heart, and pulmonary stenosis. She will need visits to the cardiologist for medication adjustments and any testing they recommend. We do not know how often she will need to see the cardiologist, visit frequency will be recommended by the the vet. As of right now, surgery is not an option. Because of this, she will not be spayed, and will be adopted with a spay contract should she ever need to go under anesthesia for anything. We are hoping there is a home out there for her that is willing to take on her needs. She deserves to be loved and doted on. She has so so much love to give, and desperately wants a family to share it with. We understand not every home is suitable for her, but please share her to your Facebook page. Never know who may see it and fall in love with her.

Story
Meet Bella! Bella is a sweet girl, around 55 pounds. Her birthdate is Aug 4, 2015 and we think she is a mix of yellow lab and shiba inu. She is well socialized with people, and often pretends to be a lap dog and loves attention. She roams freely around the house when we are gone (no kennel needed) and the only thing she gets into is the trash if it is left uncovered. She will need a secured fence. She loves the dog park and playing with other dogs. She did cohabitate with a cat and wanted to play with her, but the cat preferred she keep a respectable distance. She got on well with her “step-dog-sibling” when she stayed with the kids at their dad’s house on weekends. She did not grow up around babies and toddlers but she has been doing well with my grandbaby. She would be well suited for a home with school age children or a couple looking for a cuddly critter.

Story
My name is Scooby and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m 8 years old and I came to my foster home here in Smithville, MO from a shelter. I was in pretty bad shape, so the shelter asked SIRA to rescue me. I was super skinny and much of my fur was missing, but I’m doing much better now – up to 20 lbs. The shelter said that I had been abandoned, but my foster family say they can tell that I was well-loved once. I guess that’s because I’m social and cuddly and I love getting attention. Belly rubs are my favorite! I’ll follow my foster family around the house just to see what they’re doing. I play games with the crazy 6- and 8-year-old boys who live here or nap on the couch with foster mom. I’ve met even younger kids and did well with them too. I’m a good boy in my foster home, I’m house trained and don’t have accidents as long as I go out on schedule. I’m very food motivated, but I don’t bother my foster family when they are eating. I like to go for leash walks. I’m very curious and don’t get spooked easily by loud noises. I love meeting new people! I’m crate trained and do okay for short periods of time, but when I’m ready to be let out, I can be very vocal. And when left unsupervised outside of my crate, I’ve been a good boy. No mischief or accidents. I’m good with other dogs, like the other foster Shibas here. Larger dogs sometimes make me feel like I need to protect what’s mine, but foster mom has worked with me on that. I haven’t shown any interest in chasing birds or bunnies outside. Now that I’ve gained some weight and my fur is growing back, I’m a healthy boy! I’m neutered and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and want a goofy, snuggly, energetic, curious, playful, social boy to be your best friend, that’s me! Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn about you and your home environment so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will connect you with my foster mom so we can meet! I’d love that!
