Story
KoKo is our 3rd Shiba Inu to join our family, just turned 1 yr on 20 March, she is the only girl and is a loving one. She wants to be with me all the time, for petting and loving She loves laying in the bed sleeping with me and does not spend time away. This causes her not to want to share with the boys. However, she is great with my daughters male dog. This breaks our hearts but KoKo should go to a home where she has full attention to share her love. She has been in heat once and our plan is to get her spayed this month. We just want her to be happy and with the right family. KoKo deserves that. We are not asking for an adoption fee as finding her a happy home with the right family to love her is what is most important. Thank you...

Story
Ginny is a beautiful 50 lb shiba inu mix who originally came to us from the reservation.  She was adopted to a couple who returned her when they had a baby.  It sounded like the new parents and Ginny were all struggling to adapt to a big life change.  Ginny was heartbroken after losing her family but has slowly come out of her shell.  We have witnessed her to be guarded and very slow to warm up to new humans in her life.  She is very protective of her personal space and we've seen some resource guarding. Therefore, she will need be in a home with very patient adults, and possibly older children, with a consistent routine without a lot of new people coming and going.  She appears to be crate trained and will need to be fed in her crate or a room by herself.    She is an active girl who loves long walks and would enjoy a fenced yard for outdoor play, but is unlikely to be a dog park dog.  She entertains herself playing with her toys or chewing on bones.  She is highly intelligent and has mastered the commands "sit", "paw" and "down".  She is food motivated and once you're on her A list, she is eager to please.   Ginny has a dominant personality so she would likely do best in a home without other dogs or with a more submissive dog.  Ginny rides well in a car so if you want to go site-seeing she's up for the adventure.  Ginny will need a very specific home with a loving, patient, committed family.  If you want to meet this precious furbaby please contact Town and Country Animal Rescue. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. **Part of Ginny's adoption fee has been sponsored by someone who loves her!
