Story
LuciaFemaleAge: 3Weight: 40 lbsBreed: Shiba Inu mix Hi! I’m Lucia. I am a playful, quiet and smart lady who gets along great with other dogs, cats and even kids. I am crate trained and can be left in my crate while I learn my way around and get more comfortable. I really love car rides and will jump in with you to go to stores, take walks, meet new nice people and other calm dogs – I really like to play with other dogs. My favorite treats are flavored snacks and chew bones and my favorite toys are bones too. I know commands like “sit” and “wait” and “no”. I am not much of a cuddler, but I do like to hang out inside and go for walks with my people.  If you are interested in meeting Lucia, apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5+ ##1881964##

Story
My name is Turbo and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m 6 y.o. and was rescued by SIRA from a breeding facility. Now I live in Columbus, OH. You guys – I had NO IDEA there was so much out here in the world! It’s so much fun to explore it all. Today I figured out how to climb up on the kitchen table. And from there, I jumped on the kitchen counter. Aha! Lots of interesting stuff up there. Hopped right into the dryer when foster dad left it open. It’s the perfect cozy, warm den! Speaking of humans, I’m still getting used to them. My foster dads have been so nice, but I’m not used to that, so I’m still shy and skittish when they come too close. But when they tell me how sweet I am and what a good boy I am and give me head scritches – that sure feels good, so I’m considering being braver. Things I like about being rescued: Taking naps! I’m a good napper. I go into my crate and shut the door behind me when I want some quiet time. I love meeting other dogs and playing outside! I’ve learned a lot from watching them (like how to jump on the kitchen chair to reach the table…). It’s interesting to watch how they interact with their people. Looking out the window is another favorite thing – my very own big-screen TV that’s always on! I like to play with stuff like pants and shoes and hats and socks. I haven’t figured out toys yet. Chasing my tail and rolling around on my back are fun though. I’m potty trained and will sleep through the night in my closed crate. I won’t make noise unless I need to go outside. I’m neutered, health, vaccinated and weigh 21 lbs. My perfect forever home would have a securely fenced yard where I could run and jump and play or an active family who likes long walks and trips to the park. I’d love a nice dog friend to show me the ropes. I haven’t met any cats or small kids yet, but I think little kids would scare me a lot. If you live in the Midwest and want a handsome, dude like me to explore the world with, then I’m your guy! Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA know if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA can introduce you to my foster dad so we can meet!

Story
Amber is a sweet 8 year old Shiba Inu. From the time she was a puppy, Amber was raised around children, other dogs, and many friends and family, so she is very socialized and well-tempered. She makes a great apartment dog because she is fully housebroken, sleeps a lot, and doesn't demand much attention. She can get a little clingy when there are visitors in the house but she maintains her sweet and friendly disposition to adults and children alike. If she has a view out a front window or access to a fenced backyard with neighbor dogs she can bark a lot, but this can be minimized with use of a spray bark collar. She's a great dog, but our family can no longer care for her in this season of our life and would love to see her go to a good home.
