Meet Benny, a delightful 1 year-old Shih Tzu who weighs in at 15 pounds. With his soft, curly coat and sparkling eyes, Benny is a real showstopper, his sweet and playful personality only adds to his charm. This little man has a heart as big as his love for life, and he’s ready to bring his sunshine into your home! Benny was found as a stray and ended up in a local shelter. He is eager to start a new life in a caring, stable, home. Benny is a friendly, social dog who gets along well with other dogs, making him an excellent companion for furry siblings. He loves to chew on antlers and snuggle up with his humans. He’ll happily curl up beside you on the couch or nestle in bed at night, content to be close to those he loves. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, Benny is your guy! Benny’s playful energy is matched by his gentle and affectionate nature. He’s a loving little companion who thrives on human interaction and attention. Whether you’re sitting down to relax or out enjoying a walk, Benny is happiest when he’s by your side, always ready to share a moment of affection. Story
Welcome to rescue, Jackson!  He is a senior Shih Tzu mix, born 2013.  His owner is moving into an assisted living facility, so he needs a new place.  Jackson has been living in a senior care facility, so he is familiar with that type of environment.  He doesn't need a fenced yard because he is used to only going outside on a leash. Jackson is very sweet.  He loves to just snuggle in his bed (or with you) and he also does well in the car.  He loves everyone - kids, adults, cats/kittens and other dogs.  He is not used to being kenneled, but he is fine being left home alone.  He'll need a refresher for potty training in his new environment. Jackson is blind in one eye.  He doesn't know how to go down steps, but is able to go up the steps.  Apply today if Jackson seems like a good match for you! The suggested adoption donation for Jackson is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. Rory is a very friendly guy born in 2013.  He is potty trained, crate trained and does well with children, other dogs and cats.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.   Rory came into rescue with his adoptive sibling, Roxy, and would love to go to their furever home together, but it is not necessary.  Roxy is a Coton de Tulear mix and Rory is a Shih Tzu/Coton mix - both as cute as can be!   If you're looking for 1 or 2 seniors to love and care for, apply for Roxy and/or Rory today!
