She also has glaucoma and had to have her left eye removed when we couldn't get the pressure down. she gets around great loves to sit by her human. Aries is a young male Shih Tzu (right around 1 year old. He is beyond SWEET and loves attention. He has an adorable underbite and enjoys giving kisses and nibbling on your fingers but is very gentle about it. He likes to be where you are, but is also not horribly demanding. He's very calm for a young dog and loves toys. He hasn't been as desensitized to grooming as he should be, considering his breed requires perpetual grooming. He's not completely housebroken, but he is crate-trained and getting better at going out to potty. With patience and a set potty schedule, he'll continue to do well. He's treat motivated but also very aware of everything around him and can get easily distracted. He would love to live with someone who can lavish him with attention, but could also be firm enough to set some boundaries and gentle enough for his small size. It's important that a kind, gentle groomer be found to start working on grooming desensitization. His perfect home would be someone who is not gone for long periods and can give him the love and attention he longs for and possibly has another calm pet who can keep him company and show him the ropes.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Gertrude or Gerti for short is an adorable and sweet senior gal. She was surrendered by her owner after personal medical expenses became too much. Gertrude is currently undergoing treatment for her skin, ears and eye issues. She is a dream on a walk, with dogs, with people, you name it she's perfect for it. She originally was not a fan of her eye and ear medications and it took a little finessing to complete those. She is already feeling so much better as she has been super social and playful with anyone she has interacted with. She is realizing that the medications are not actually hurting her and feeling better so she has been doing well with her eye medications already so I know it will not take much longer to for her to understand that only good things are coming from people giving her these weird things. She will have a lifelong eye and skin medication, She came with matting and extremely overgrown nails into her pads, her little feet are still swollen and she has a foot soak a few times a week for the wounds that were inflicted. She adores all attention so she loves all the grooming. She was a little wiggly for nails originally but hey, who wouldn't with the pain she was in before. She is absolutely soaking up all the love and attention she is getting. She will need someone knowledgeable in administering various medications for dogs.
