Chewbecca, also known as Chewy is ready to find her perfect forever home! Chewy came to us as a stray, and her hair strongly resembled the true Chewbacca, hence the name. She is a young shih-tzu, estimated to be around 2 years old. . Chewy has a lot of puppy energy. She hasn't seen a toy she doesn't want to play with. Similar to most puppies she is still learning what a toy is and what is not, she takes the redirection easily. After some time playing and getting the zoomies she likes to settle into her dog bed for her afternoon snooze. Chewy walks nicely on a leash and enjoys daily walks, she is also playful in the backyard and would love a yard of her own! A fence is not required, as long as their is a safe space that she can explore outdoors on a leash. Another dog in the house would be great to have a playmate, but she could also be the only dog with the right family. Chewy has not been cat tested, but that can be completed if needed. She has shown some small animal prey-drive in the back yard. Chewy is not a big fan of her crate and would prefer to be snuggled up with her current foster sibling. She does tolerate short stints in the crate without much fuss. She has been fostered with a 1 year old human, and has been great with her. She has made great progress here in rescue, but did have an incident that caused her to lose an eye. Ruby is good with other level headed dogs, but unfortunately she didn't mesh with her foster sister and was the recipient of trauma. HOWEVER, she has no residual issues with dogs and lives happily in a large pack of small dogs in her foster home, but a potential home should know thei dog and if they aren't tolerant of others then Ruby won't be a good fit. She is very well trained with tons of commands, crate trained (and should continue using a crate to eat and sleep in a new home to ensure she keeps healthy boundaries), leash trained, and house trained on pee pads or to go outside. Ruby Goose loves adventures, car rides, toys, and playful furry siblings as long as they aren't cats, since she doesn't like the feline species. Ruby Goose is a great little girl, but can get out of hand if you don't set clear boundaries that she is a dog and a crate must be used as we say to ensure she lives a happy life with healthy attachments to her adult humans. Rosie is a sweet dog gets along with kids. We have a cat and she does chase the cat around and play with her. She isn’t around other dogs a lot except when she goes to the groomer which she does great getting groomed. She is crate trained and pee pad trained. She is lovable and loves to cuddle. Due to my position at work it is really hard to give her a lot of attention. I would love to see her go to someone who can spend more time with her. She loves going for rides in the car and for walks. I got her from a pet store when she was a puppy. She sees her vet and as of right now she is up to date on shots due to when I go on vacation I do take her to a kennel.
