Story
DOB 2022 Casper, is not a friendly ghost. His previous owner surrended him when he was headed off to college.. He is a big gorgeous Siamese mix. He is part tiger and may have been an only kitten or teased a lot when he was young. He needs to learn that hands are not toys. He is going to need an experience owner of onery cats. He easily gets over stimulated. His current foster has his number and understands he needs a few play sessions a day to get that energy out of his system and recognizes when he is DONE being petted. Casper has done okay with younger cats at the fosters' house. Although we think Casper would do best as an only pet. He will need a long acclimation period where he has a space just to chill in. A guest room, office or bathroom. Casper does like to play with his feather toys. He does kind of chase a laser light. He likes to be up high. He is food motivated and LOVES churus. We would NOT recommend Casper be adopted to a home with children. If you have experiece with a cat with purrsonality like Casper, fill out an appllication. PLEASE READ: Adoption fee $100 for adult ( over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home. Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet. Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.

Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been known to shower my favorite people with love.I guess you could say I'm pretty "down-to-earth" - I like my feet on the floor! I can be sensitive to being picked up and held. I am not for the first time cat owner. Someone very familiar with feline body language is a must for me.Sassy: I am a lively, bold and spirited kitty. I will need positive outlets for my energy, hands off playtime, a calm environment and the ability to make decisions on my terms.Handling Sensitivity:I can be overwhelmed by overhandling, restraint or touch. I may exhibit my discomfort in a variety of ways and will need to go to a cat savvy home. The type of home I'm looking for:I would prefer to be the only cat in the home.It could be with you! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This kitty you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties Rescue (3LP) wants to set you and your new family member up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby you also receive other additional perks such as a code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet, coupons for a fun visit to Petco, and support through our Facebook Adopters group where you can connect with thousands of other adopters, 3LP volunteers, fosters and staff. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescues and will require continued efforts but are well on their way to being the best kitties that they can be! We ask that you give them time (can take weeks to months) to decompress in their new home, do slow introductions to other pets and let their true personalities have a chance to come through. We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 14,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.facebook.com/ThreeLittlePittiesRescueSavingKitties/ https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue/ *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $48 surcharge for transport. I wrote a full length note and it just erased it. She is sweet. loves to be pet and brushed . would be an excellent companion and happier being the only cat i think she is 14. born in the country and bonded with may husband as a kitten. now me since he passed last year. i am forced to move as no one allows more than 2 cats. She just had her nails cut this week. she weighed 20 lbs. It makes me sad to have to leave her but i know she would be happy if I found the right friend to love her
