Meet Lucy, a sweet and affectionate 24lb terrier mix who is ready to find her perfect foster or foster-to-adopt home. This loving girl is spayed, vaccinated, and has a medium/high energy level that makes her an excellent companion for daily walks, hiking and playtime. Lucy is a pro on the leash, never pulling, making her an ideal walking partner who will happily accompany you on your daily adventures.
Lucy is incredibly affectionate with her humans and loves to snuggle and play with toys. She has a special fondness for men and would thrive with a positive male role model in her life. While she’s a little anxious at first, especially in new situations and around new dogs, Lucy has the potential to blossom into a confident and loyal companion with a patient and understanding adopter.
Her ideal home would be one where someone is home more often, as she doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long periods but she does well being left alone for a few hours at a time. Lucy is crate-trained and settles in nicely after a short adjustment period, and she’s been non-destructive when left in her "doggy space" (a spare room). That said, a calm and patient environment will help her adjust and feel more secure.
Lucy’s perfect home would include a fenced backyard for safe play, and she can live with a calm dog or cat after proper introductions but a home without other pets would suit her well. Her new family should be experienced in dog anxiety and be committed to helping her build confidence as she adjusts to new surroundings.
Lucy is very athletic and enjoys running, walking, hiking, jumping and playing.
