Story
Harley was released from his previous owner to PACC/SAFE due to the previous owners health and too many dogs. The previous owner had a guard dog business along with puppies to be trained for future duties. Harley was not trained to be a guard dog as he was still a puppy. However, he was never socialized to live in an average home setting. He is a special needs dog as he is still learning how to be a dog, a family pet in a home environment.Volunteer notes: Harley has had a long history of Severe Fear and anxiety. During the first year in his foster home with his foster family working with him, Harley has become a sweet and loving dog. He is friendly and loves to be petted and cuddled, however he still faces some challenges. I have been working with Harley focusing on three tasks. Desensitizing, Socialization practice and building confidence through play and obedience. Harley blooms with his dog roommates around! He feels comfortable and is filled with energy. He acts like a typical young dog, he will even be naughty and gently jump on me, which isn't the best behavior but for Harley that show of comfort and excitement is a good thing! There is a distinctive change in him when other dogs are around, so I would recommend he be housed with other large dogs if possible. The current challenge is adjusting Harley from having the other dogs around to feeling the same confidence when they are gone. Ongoing issue - Harley has a strong prey drive, and shows herding behavior. Due to this it is not advised that Harley be placed in a home with small children or small pets/dogs. Once we can get his fear and anxiety down it will be easier to work on his impulse control.

Story
Hi, my name is Colby Jack. I am a shy guy who lived outdoors most of my life and I'm still learning how to be a spoiled companion pup. I love going for long walks and admiring nature. I'm a huge fan of water so I love hoses, pools, and sprinklers. I'm trying to find a human who will give me lots of love and be patient while I learn to trust and explore new places. Call a Humane Society Adoptions -Councilor to learn more about me! 520-327-6088 ext 173.

Story
Tyson is named after the brand behind his favorite treat- chimken!! Just kidding, we don’t know who or what he’s named after- he’ll still take some nuggets though! Tyson is a lovable pup who really deserves a stable forever home. He’s bounced around a bit and is hopeful to find his forever home soon! During a brief adoption Tyson did well with young kids and was both housebroken and crate trained. His former people said that he loves hiking and swimming and described him as affectionate, playful, smart, and loving. He knows tricks and is treat- motivated. While he loves to play, he can be a bit of a couch potato too. Tyson is always at your side and loves to stick close to his humans. During a short holiday foster vacation Tyson did well with older kids, was a quiet houseguest, and was again housebroken. He loved to play with balls and anything that squeaks. His foster described him as a well- mannered, cuddly couch potato who walks well on leash. During his most recent shelter vacation Tyson did well with the resident dogs- even a big old 90-pound lab mix! He was housebroken (as usual) and was described as smart, playful, and generally calm. He also loved playing tug o’ war and is a big fan of chew toys. Tyson showed his fosters all of his tricks (sit, shake and down) and that he’s eager to learn more! Here’s what volunteers at the shelter have said about Tyson:“We had Tyson and kennelmate in the play yard and Tyson was an absolute delight. He had a lot of energy and just ran and ran and ran. His kennelmate would chase after him and it was very cute to watch. Tyson came when called (seems to know his name), had a nice sit, gave paw when asked, took his treats very gently and made good eye contact. Wonderful dog for an active family.”“Today I took Tyson to a play yard. He was playful with his kennelmate in the yard. He took breaks and was affectionate with her which was super cute. He`s an active and fun guy!”“Tyson is a friendly guy, greeting me affectionately when I entered his kennel. A polite walker with gorgeous fluffy fur!”Tyson has shared his kennel with other PACC pups and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup- he warmed up quickly and was playful with the other pups. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Tyson today!!
