Northern Anderson, South Carolina - Biscuit, Male Saint Bernard only 2.5 years old, 150 lbs, UTD on all vaccines, vet care & preventatives, neutered. Biscuit lives on a giant property - 80 acres free to roam and is so great with other animals AND loves loves loves children. Biscuit is extremely sweet but protective over his family when on the property and strangers approach and that is why the family no longer wants him. He is great in public/off the property. HAS NO BITE HISTORY. Biscuit just needs a home that will devote love, training and time to this extremely beautiful and loving dog. He does have basic obedience which covers heeling on leash, place, sit, down, and recall. Has had professional dog training and devotion from vet and trainer helping find a great home for him. He Is great with other dogs but would also do well in a single dog home. He currently lives on 80 acres so loves to roam about. Ideally he would need a fenced in property. Family is getting rid of him because when they are not home, he goes after the grounds keepers and delivery persons (i.e., UPS, FEDex etc.). Family doesnt want him anymore and does not want to confine him, fence in/fence off driveway or even kennel etc. They do not want to get an invisible fence, reg. fence to keep him from driveway or anything. They just built a home on the same pc of property and no longer want him in the house either. NO NASTY COMMENTS. WE ARE HERE TO FIND BISCUIT A LOVING HOME. A HOME THAT HAS EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS THAT WANT TO PROTECT THEIR HOME AND FAMILY BUT A FAMILY TOO THAT CAN CONTROL IT AND CURTAIL HIS BEHAVIOR TO PROTECT WHEN NEEDED. He thrives with the dog trainer and at the trainer's home. He wants to please and thinks protecting is his way of "earning his keep". Biscuit is housebroken and loving to his family. Has been to training and has a devoted trainer to help with his transition into his new home as well as a veterinarian and local rescue. Biscuit is only 2 1/2 (still a puppy for a saint). More photos forthcoming.

MEDICATIONS: Anxiety meds for separation anxiety SPECIAL NEEDS: Severely abused. Will require patience and committment. Zero aggression - A very kind dog ANXIETY:  Very afraid of people and will run and/or hide. Afraid of storms but just wants to be with you.BARKING:  High - Extremely LOUD EXPERIENCED OWNER NEEDED:  Yes CRATE TRAINED:  Yes but will break out HOUSE TRAINED:  Yes GOOD IN CAR:  Yes.  FUN FACTS: Theo was severely abused. Upon entry into rescue he hid in a corner, back to us, and shook hard. He's come a long way, however, and does well meeting people, but he is slow to approach. He has developed separtion anxiety and is currently taking medication for that so he doesn't get into anything while nobody is home - otherwise he's extremely well behaved. He loves his people very much, and is devoted. Due to his fears, however, especially with changes into a new home, he will require commitment, devotion, and patience. He will not be a dog that is snuggly and kissy or wrapped up in his new family, due to his need to learn to trust. He will take a significant amount of time to learn and to establish acceptance of his new life, but he is SO worth it. Theo is a VERY KIND and GENTLE dog with a soft, loving heart. He has absolutely ZERO aggression. He's also highly intelligent. He requires a 6ft fence for playtime and to be on a leash at ALL times when not in the fenced area due to his fears and his breed - NO EXCEPTIONS. He will also need someone who can handle his strength for times when he might be afraid on a leash. Theo loves his canine companions and would be unhappy in a home without other dogs, but he will need gentle introductions just b/c he'll be afraid. He loves to play and highly depends on his canine friends. Theo LOVES treats and food, and he is very mild mannered when taking them from you. He loves his morning and evening treat and runs to the kitchen and sits handsomely when he knows it's time. He's a fun boy with a tremendous smile, and he also talks similar to a Husky at times. Theo is devoted to those he loves and appreciates their kindness. He is a lovely boy with an innocent and very sweet disposition. ##1311506##
