Story
Hola! My name is CHATA and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffie Mix Age: 8 years Gender: Female Weight: 55lbs (24.9 kg)  Height: 54 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 73 cm (head to butt) Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - I was rescued from the streets of Chimahuacán, Mexico along with my litter of 7 puppies. I was just 2 years old at the time. I am now 7 years old and all of my puppies have found their forever homes. I hope that I too can find a loving family to call my own! TEMPERAMENT - My rescuer describes me as “extremely noble” and “a dog like an angel”. I am a natural caretaker and very maternal with the puppies at the shelter. I live well with dogs of all sizes and am good with cats and children too! I know that I will be an ideal dog for any loving home. ENERGY LEVEL - Low - I am very calm and, despite my hard life, I am not afraid of anything. I equally love going for walkies and basking in the sun! Here I am playing ball. GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes. Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4 Dogs –  Yes. I get along with dogs of all sizes in the shelter. My best friend’s name is Woody and we love to play and sleep together. Video 1, Video 2, Video 3 Cats – Yes. Video  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here I am on a walk! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including taxes (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2039543##

Story
Hello!! My name is Annabelle. Here is some information about me: Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix  Age: 1 year  Gender: Female Weight: 35 lbs Height: 15 inches  Rescue Story:  Before I came to live with my foster family in Vancouver I was found as a stray in Victoria, Texas by my vet. While they tried to locate my owners, sadly no one came forward. Temperament Info:  Although I am high energy, I am gentle with my trusted humans and other dogs, am eager to please, and love to cuddle.  I am a very loving, energetic, social, and intelligent dog.  When I play with humans I may bark out of excitement-- other than that my foster family rarely hear me bark. I am very smart and have picked up on training commands quickly! I am keen to learn new things, motivated by treats and praise. I love playing with other dogs and chewing on Nlyabones/Kongs. Best home:  My ideal home is one where humans can provide me with adequate exercise, mental stimulation, and the time to build a loving connection. As I did not have much attention in my previous life, I now want to be close to my human(s) whenever possible-- I have even been known to sometimes *gently* sit on people in order to be as close as I physically can to them!!  What can I say-- I love all this new attention! I have no food or toy aggression and I love my crate! I eat my meals and sleep in it.  Overall I am a small, loving, goofy and energetic girl! Do you have space in your heart for me? Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes (however, I want to play with them, which they may not be on board with) Kids: Yes (no toddlers though as I am high energy and could overpower them) Prey Drive: Unknown/none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise.  Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.  Training: My foster parent is currently working on training with me and has trained me in: Sit Stay Down Stay  Come Place command (bed), until released Crate command, until released Impulse control: I will sit and wait to be released to and from outside. I wait to be released to eat food as well.  Leash trained: not fully but I still do well naturally on a leash, I just need a bit more training! I am good with boundaries. I know I’m not allowed in the kitchen, on the couch or bed until I am invited to do so.  I am house and crate trained! Health Notes: I am proud to be a healthy pup! Though I arrived at my foster family's home a tad underweight, I am currently maintaining a healthy weight. I received surgery for a cherry eye which is still a little red, but does not bother me.  I have been spayed and I am up to date on all vaccines and I am microchipped.  Video link: Craft time with Annabelle. https://youtu.be/lmARUR1BU-M Video link: Annabelle's training.  Such a smart pup https://youtu.be/ebRgkxhkEbA Video link: Annabelle outside https://youtu.be/vR9eU-iiZas Video link: Annabelle playing with human brother https://youtu.be/wZkLXWrsRLI My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1835236##
