Story
Walker embodies what his breed profile states: the energetic protector. He is a very goofy and sweet dog. He loves to chase his ball & laser pointer and his squeaky toys. He has a lot of energy but once he gets a little exercise and stimulation he is a couch potato. He’s also great with kids, very patient with our toddler. Walker can get excitable on car rides and on walks. He does great on a gentle lead, but can be reactive to cars/people/dogs. But he is very trainable (he had puppy training but none since & would probably benefit from it.) He has lived with a cat his whole life, but he will do best in a home without a cat. He takes too high of an interest and tends to annoy the cat 24/7. We are sadly looking to rehome him because Walker needs more attention than what we can offer at this time in our lives. He needs a bit more training and stimulation that we don’t have time for with a toddler, another blind older dog, and a kitten. He deserves more.

Story
Pebbles is a wonderful girl, 4 years old. She is 55 lbs. She has lived with kids and small dogs but she was too high energy for the smaller dogs to play with her. A dog closer to her size to play might be a good fit. She has not lived with cats and she has too much energy for them anyway. She will follow you around, loves people and loves to lay on the couch and sleep with you. She loves kids but can knock them down in her excitement. Due to her energy, she needs a fenced in yard and someone that is home often to let her out and spend time with her. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Email adoptions@ctcatconnection.org with a question or better yet, complete an application for quickest consideration. (Application: https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application/). Please consider fostering a cat or dog by applying on our website.A cat's behavior in the shelter is usually not what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat.Kitten Policy: It is important to understand that the socialization of kittens with other animals as playmates is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.Due to demand, we cannot place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet any cat or kitten available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Sashi! Sashi was rescued from an abandoned home. She has had hip issues from when she was a pup. It's noticeable when she trots but doesn't affect her running as her zoomies are fast. She was very skittish of any loud notices and voices that led us to believe she was abused. She has grown to trust humans and is such a happy dog. She rolls on the floor for you for some belly rubs. She is a great girl, a Staffordshire mix that is good with dogs and kids. She has not had any exposure with cats yet. Sashi has a prey drive and would do best in a household where there are no smaller animals, farm animals, etc. She is crate trained and working with on potty training. Has had some accidents in the house but does well outdoors. Happy dog and enjoys playing with a smaller companion chihuahua. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Rugby is a happy-go-lucky little guy with an infectious zest for life. Whether it’s playing with a dog, engaging with people or going for a long hike, Rugby is ready, willing and able. He will be greatly suited for a high energy household and an active lifestyle.   APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  41 lbs. ESTIMATED DOB:  12/22/2020 GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS: Selective GOOD WITH KIDS: No GOOD WITH CATS: No REQUIRES A FENCE:  No ACTIVITY LEVEL: High energy LIKES TO VOCALIZE: Some SPECIAL NEEDS: No   BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED:  No APPROPRIATE PLACEMENT FOR 1ST TIME DOG OWNER? No FREE OBEDIENCE TRAINING IS OFFERED WITH ALL DOG ADOPTIONS &#226&#128&#139Please note that we are often asked if dogs are "house trained".  The dogs are in fact living in a kennel environment during their time with us.  Even if they have previously lived in a home and been trained - the stress of the change and the new home can sometimes cause regression and require some additional training.  We feel that it's best for all adopters to be prepared for this possibility. Visit our adoption page for details about our process, and to fill out an adoption application.  All animals come spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped.  If the animals age or health prevents any of these from being completed prior to adoption a voucher is issued for the services to be performed.  If you have any questions about the animal, or our adoption process, please email adopt@littleguild.org.  The Little Guild is a 501c(3) federally recognized non-profit organization devoted to saving the lives of homeless pets.  August 14, 2024, 12:26 pm
