Story
Meet Sissy, the most delightful Staffy mix with a heart as big as her smile. Weighing in at 42 pounds and 4 years young, Sissy is the definition of canine charm. With her warm personality, fun-loving spirit, and friendly nature, she's sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet her. We know her very well here at the rescue group, as she is one of the longest dogs we've had in foster for over a year and a half. But now we are cheering her on, in the search of finding her forever. And great news - a sponsor has agreed to pay for her adoption fee, so all that's left if for you to take this gal home! Sissy's journey hasn't been without its challenges, but her resilience and unwavering spirit continue to shine through. Once a cherished member of a loving family, Sissy was given away when they fell on hard times, leading to mistreatment by her new owner. Thankfully fate intervened, and a very pregnant Sissy found herself in the loving arms of the Knox Whitley Shelter in Corbin, KY. There, she received the care and compassion she desperately needed, and welcomed a litter of precious puppies into the world.  From there, Sissy's journey led her to the kind embrace of a foster family in NJ, where she's now thriving more than ever. Her gentle nature and playful demeanor make her a favorite among adults, kids and canines alike - however a home without cats is ideal. Sissy is housebroken, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and an all around well-behaved little lady. She is so much more than a rescue dog—she's a testament to a beacon of hope and the power of love. With her spirit overflowing with joy, Sissy is ready to find her forever family; one that will cherish her unconditionally and provide her with the care she deserves. If you're interested in opening your heart to this amazing pup, apply today at www.peace4paws.org on your computer or laptop (not available on smartphones). Together, let's give Sissy the second chance at happiness that she eagerly awaits. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Coral Sue! Coral is an absolute love bug. She loves all sorts of dogs and kids of all ages. She is only about two or three years old and came to us with a terrible and sad story. She had been found running loose with a pack of dogs and was thought to be heavily pregnant. She was put on the euthanasia list where we were able to get her and bring her into our foster care. She developed a terrible upper respiratory infection, including three different viruses. Sadly, she lost most of her puppies to the diseases. Throughout it all, she’s been a kind and loving dog. Coral should weigh approximately 45 pounds but she’s a bit more now, as her foster has over-indulged her because of all she has been through, and we just can’t blame them! We aren’t sure about her breed mix, we are going to call her a Staffordshire bull terrier, as well as a Dalmatian and possibly coonhound mix! She’s been learning to leash walk and has become quite the couch potato living in her foster home, and she is perfectly house-trained. Interested in becoming a forever home for Coral? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Coral. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Coral the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
