Story
Meet Ophelia, a charming girl with a personality that will make you smile. Her goofy antics are guaranteed to bring laughter to your home, while her shy side will make you want to shower her with love and comfort. Ophelia`s sweet nature is evident in the way she interacts with both humans and other animals. She`s playful too, always ready for a fun game or a romp in the park. Despite her shy demeanor, she`s quick to show affection once she feels safe and loved. Ophelia is looking for a forever home where she can be her goofy, shy, sweet, and playful self. Adopt Ophelia, and let her fill your life with joy and companionship. Her partner Hamlet gives her the confidence that she needs to thrive, so we are requiring that the two of them find their forever home together. Both Hamlet and Ophelia can be shy in new spaces, so we recommend that any children in their new home are age 5 or older so they can understand their needs. They may do well with other dogs in their new home after a slow introduction.Adoption Price: $1Perfect Pair with Hamlet

Story
This is Rocky! He is a super caring and loving dog that goes crazy for belly rubs. He loves being around people and is good with kids and cats. He loves to play with everyone and his favorite toy is a soccer ball! We got him as a pup through a friend that had a litter of puppies. Rocky’s birthday is September 17, 2024 he turns 6 months old in March. He does great on walks, Rocky is fairly calm when people pass him and he does not yank on his leash very much. He is not an aggressive dog whatsoever he has a heart of gold and it breaks our heart to give him up. We would love for him to have a home with a family that is able to give him the time and care that he should have. He really is a great pup but unfortunately my schedule has become far too full, I am not able to provide him with the time and energy that he deserves.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 3/28/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Ella to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Ella! She is a purebred moyan size standard poodle. She is red in color and gorgeous!! She turned 1 year of age on 3/1/25. She weighs 28.4 lbs. Yes, she is fully grown and at a very healthy weight. She is naturally smaller framed and petite ❤️ She is spayed, microchipped, current on all of her one year vaccines, had a dental cleaning done, along with an exam with our vet who has officially cleared her to find a home all her own 😊 She is a VERY sweet, and affectionate angel of a poodle!! She LOVES everyone she meets, and BELIEVES in her heart that people were placed in her path to return the love with sweet hellos and hugs if allowed 🙃 She is very gentle about it and always puts one paw up asking if it's okay that her second one follows so that she can tell you hello properly with a hug that will be sure to brighten anyone's day looking for a little joy 💕 She is VERY smart, and observant of all that is happening around her. She focuses in as if she understands every conversation happening around her 🙃 She is definitely one of the girls, and wants to be part of the latest scoop 😂 She is not a barker, but will alert you of unfamiliar noises. She does listen very well, so a quick correction gets her attention back on you. She is wonderful in the home, and has amazing house manners. She is not destructive at all, and just enjoys hanging around. She is either laying near by if not right at your feet, playing with another pup, or napping til it's time to do something fun with her person! She is NOT high energy, but sure does love to play! She is not hard to please, and is happy doing just about anything with her human!!! She LOVES road trips of any length, and is happy to venture out of the home especially if it leads to her favorite groomer!! She loves a good spa day!!! I'll often feel her head resting on my shoulder during longer trips (she loves touch!) She truly is a special girl, and a friend you want to have in your life as your best friend 💕 She is AMAZING with other dogs and cats alike. She would make a great companion to another sweet playful soul, but if it's just her and her human/family she would be okay with that too!!! She knows she is a princess (I tell her it all the time!!) so taking on that role won't be hard one bit for her ☺️ She is crate trained, and sleeps in her crate at night peacefully. She would do very well on a dog bed aside yours, or even in bed if that's where you wanted her and had the extra space! I would just make sure that's where you want her because I'm not sure you'll be able to get her back into a crate at night once she knows the comfort of your bed 😉 She is house trained, and does very well going outside every couple of hours when asked to. We have a very good schedule down for her so she never has to ask to be let out, so I would recommend the same in her next home so she continues knowing you'll just be there to make sure her needs are met, remember she is the princess after all 😉 Leash training is a work in progress as that's the one thing she wasn't introduced to in her prior home. If you talk to her and take your time while walking she does follow you, but it will be something that needs to be continued in her next home. Again! She is super smart so it won't be hard taking over and showing her the beauty of the world and why she must be a part of it!!! Her owner fell on VERY hard times financially and lost her home from under her. She took both of her poodles to stay with a friend but she lived in an apartment herself and had her own pets so their time was limited from the beginning as it wasn't meant to be a permanent situation for them. With no end in sight of her financial troubles, she couldn't take them back in the end so they reached out to us to take them in and find a wonderful home. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_ella It covers her spay. She also had a dental cleaning done that needed additional anesthesia time, along with antibiotics that were administered to aid in the healing of both her spay and dental. She also received her yearly vaccines, was microchipped, had a thourel exam with our vet which included an ear exam (both of which were in great health!) and has officially been cleared by our vet to find a home all her own, As always her adoption fee also goes back into the months of care she has received since with us here, along with her grooming costs, and training we have personally done with her.

We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 3/28/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Nelson to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Nelson! He is a purebred standard poodle. He is red in color and absolutely stunning! He turned 1 year of age on 3/1/25. He weighs 34 lbs. Yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight. He is just a smaller framed male 💙 He is neutered, microchipped, current on all of his one year vaccines, had a dental cleaning done, along with an exam with our vet who has officially cleared him to find a home all his own 😊 I can't say ENOUGH good things about our SWEET boy Nelson 😊 He is an absolute SWEETHEART of a boy and LOVES with ALL of his HEART ❤️ He is kind, and so very loving. His tail is always wagging, especially at first sight of his human. He is excited every single morning to start his day with you!! He is so incredibly smart, and has made working with him such a joy on our end, and while we will miss him we are so happy to be part of this journey in finding him the best home possible with someone who will become his VERY best friend 😊 He is WONDERFUL with other dogs and cats alike. He has a very beautifully natured demeanor. He loves to play, so if you have another sweet natured animal in your home that would love a brother he would be your guy!! If you don't have any other animals I'm certain he would be just as happy knowing all attention is on him 💙 He is very well mannered. He is great in our home, and if he isn't playing with another dog, he is lounging on a bed near by just hanging out or napping until something interesting starts happening and that could literally mean his person getting up to grab a drink (because that means they are closer to his snacks and who doesn't need a midday treat 😂.) He is GREAT on road trips of any kind! He loves traveling and will lounge in the back seat napping away while he occasionally checks on you to make sure you are okay 😊 He is PERFECT at the groomers, and LOVES coming back home all fresh and handsome 💕 He is crate trained and currently sleeps in the crate at night only. He goes right in when we tell him it's bedtime and sleeps all night very peacefully. He could definitely transition to a bed aside yours, if that's where you would like him as he is very easy to please. He lounges throughout the day on dog beds throughout our home, so he is already accustomed to having that available outside of the crate so letting that lead into the bedroom probably would make his heart very content knowing he doesn't have to wait til morning to see his favorite person again! Leash training is new, as it's something that wasn't introduced to him in his prior home. He does slowly follow you when you talk to him while guiding him, especially in new places. He is a smart boy and will gain more and more confidence the more practice he gets so he will definitely need more leash training in his next home, but I assure you it'll be easy once he understands the joy navigating the world outside of his home brings. House training is going beautifully! We take him out every couple of hours, and if he needs to potty he will if not, he will walk right back inside with you. He doesn't have any accidents in between, and always waits to be let out so I would recommend a good routine in his next home to ❤️ His owner fell on VERY hard times financially and lost her home from under her. She took both of her poodles to stay with a friend but she lived in an apartment herself and had her own pets so their time was limited from the beginning as it wasn't meant to be a permanent situation for them. Story
Courtesy Post: Teddy Needs a Loving Home Meet Teddy, a cream-colored Goldendoodle looking for a loving, patient home. She has been with her current family for five years after being adopted from a relative. While she is a wonderful companion, her family feels she would do best in a home without children due to her sensitivity to certain triggers. About Teddy: Breed: Goldendoodle Age: 8 years old (Born November 2015) Gender: Female (spayed) Temperament: Affectionate, snuggly, and loving Potty Trained: Yes Training: Knows basic commands, crate trained, and follows household routines Activity Level: Enjoys playing fetch, going on walks, car rides, and being with her people Other Pets: Does well with dogs but does not actively engage in play. Has not lived with cats but may adjust to a calm cat Allergies: Requires daily medication and a chicken-free diet (currently on Purina Pro Plan Salmon & Rice) Separation Anxiety: Can become anxious when left alone but responds well to structure and treats Grooming: Needs Trazodone for vet visits and grooming due to anxiety Ideal Home for Teddy: Teddy would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where she can be a loyal companion. She needs an owner who understands her boundaries and is willing to work with her on her specific triggers. She loves to be close to her people, preferably cuddled up on the couch. Challenges & Considerations: While Teddy is loving and affectionate, she has shown reactivity in specific situations: Resource Guarding: If someone tries to take a non-toy object from her mouth, she may nip. This is managed by trading the item for a treat and using commands like 'sit' and 'drop it.' Handling Sensitivities: Teddy does not like her feet or mouth being touched. She also does not tolerate being force-fed pills and must take medication in food or treats. Reactivity to Pain: If accidentally injured (e.g., foot stepped on), she may react by nipping. She has bitten in these situations before, but the bites were not severe (puncture wounds but no stitches needed). Strong Reactions to Anger: Teddy does not respond well to forceful handling or raised voices. She needs an owner who uses calm and firm leadership. While Teddy has been friendly with children, her family believes she would do best in a home without kids to avoid any accidental triggers. If you are interested in giving Teddy a loving home, please contact Leanne Wydick at (530) 220-5325 or leanneloof@gmail.com. Please share to help Teddy find the right home! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
