Story
Looking for a happy home for our 6-year-old black standard poodle, Jack. We have had Jack since he was a puppy and he is truly a part of our family. Jack is very friendly with people and does very well with playful dogs! He is happy, handsome, energetic, affectionate, healthy and obedient, and while those qualities have not changed, our family has. We now have two kids, ages 2 and 4, with another on the way, and we are finding that with age Jack has grown less tolerant of very young children. His life has changed in our home, and as much as we’d like to keep him, we believe he would thrive more in either a child-free home or a home with older children/teenagers. *Please note that Jack is a standard poodle, meaning he needs regular grooming. Poodles are also prone to ear infections, so his ears do need to be cleaned regularly. Jack is such a sweet boy with so much to bring to the right family! We are not asking for money, but rather the assurance that he will be loved.

Meet Pierre, a gentle soul looking for a forever home full of love and understanding. We do believe it would be best if Pierre’s main caregiver is a woman as he is scared of men. Pierre is a breeder release and is just beginning to explore what it means to be a beloved family member. Despite his shy nature, Pierre's sweet and calm demeanor shines through once he feels safe. Key Highlights: • Potty trained and kennel trained, making him a breeze to have at home. • Loves gentle interactions and enjoys quiet time with his favorite humans. • Not aggressive—he just needs patience and time to build trust, especially with men. Pierre would thrive in a calm household with someone who understands that new environments can be a little overwhelming for him. With patience and love, Pierre is sure to bloom into a loyal and affectionate companion. If you’re ready to show Pierre the kindness he deserves and have a gentle approach to gaining his trust, he’s waiting to meet you! Will you be the one to give him the loving home he’s been dreaming of?

Story
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster care: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog
