He is a gorgeous dog. He is going on two years old. Gumbo/Beau is currently in Arkansas and would be transported to your location through the rescue network transport. Hi! My name is Gary and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up by Animal Control along with several other dogs running after a female in heat and taken to a scary place called a shelter. No one came looking for me and after my stray time was up, I found myself on something bad called "the list". BCAA heard about my plight and said they would help me ... yeah! When I first came into foster, everyone thought I was this really big doodle 'cause I had so much hair; however, after BCAA got me groomed 'cause I had lots of mats, I appear to be more of a Standard Poodle and I am on the skinny side (see my before and after pictures!). That doesn't bother me too much as my foster mom is giving me extra food which I really like! I also initially appeared to have a red coat; however, after I had to be shaved down I now look to have a tan/taupe coat. Right now I am only about 54lbs and probably should be closer to at least 65lbs. I am 2 years old. I am on the shyer side when first meeting new people but once I have learned I can trust you, I enjoy getting attention from you. I have gotten along with the smaller dogs I have met but not so much the bigger ones, and while I haven't gotten aggressive with any of the cats I've met my foster mom says a home without them might be best as I've shown some interest in them. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding and will go right in when asked. I'm good on leash, don't pull and really enjoy going out on walks with you once I have learned I can trust you. This sweet, handsome fella was roaming the city and county for a few months and no one could catch him. We were called in to help and within a few hours he was safe in our care thanks to a citizen helping man the traps. He is very sweet, friendly and loving but he definitely has a checkered past. He does not like to be left alone for too long and can get destructive. Like many dogs here in TN he was neglected to the point where he lost trust in humans. He has now learned that there are some really great humans and so he wants to be with you. He does like to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog or 2 that are friendly and playful. He is also very young (we can only guess) so he needs an active family. He loves water, going for walks and is a great car rider. He does great with kids too. I think he would love a big, fun family to smother him with love and attention. He will need an adopter willing to work with his separation anxiety and help him get over that(there are lots of free resources). He is a Poodle, not sure if he is pure or a mix but he is going to require regular grooming. He is a high maintenance guy looking for the perfect home to meet his needs. Munchie is a 1 Year Old, 67lb Curious, Goofy, and Friendly guy! Munchie is SO ENTHUSIASTIC about his life out of the shelter! He is an "absolutely sweetheart!" This very adorable boy likely didn't get a lot of training in his early life, but that doesn't keep him from wanting to meet every person and pup he encounters! He has been very sweet in his foster home and is coming out of his shell, but he needs some training finesse, especially on leash. Munchie is a gentle giant with a goofy side. He’s a bit of a couch potato but is always eager to join in on activities. He’s friendly with other dogs and curious about his surroundings, though he can be a bit stubborn and will need a patient owner to guide him. Munchie is generally well-mannered but can be a little jumpy in the morning and might be aloof spatially, like laying in doorways. He needs a family that is home often and is ready to engage with him. The ideal family would have the time and patience for consistent training and understand his need for a balanced mix of activity and relaxation. Munchie is learning the basics like sit and lay, and he responds well to positive reinforcement. He’s food motivated and has the potential to master new commands with the right guidance.
