Story
We are looking to rehome or foster our beautiful baby boy Chewy. Chewy will be 3 in July and is a Poodle mix. He is shed-less, up to date on all his vaccines, crate and house trained, and fixed. He was professionally trained and is Ecollar trained. He knows sit, down, come, place, and off with the expectation that everything is held in a stay position until given the command of free. If desired, Chewy will come with a large crate, a bag of current food, current leash and collar, raised platform/bed, and raised food and water dishes. Chewy is the sweetest boy in the whole world! He loves to cuddle, play fetch and run around outside. He also absolutely loves belly rubs! Out of nowhere, Chewy suddenly stopped getting along with our other dog, but is still an incredibly sweet and good boy otherwise! Because of this, we recommend that Chewy is the only pet in the house. No dogs, cats, etc. Located in Sioux Falls, SD but willing to travel for the right home.

These pups are in Brandon, South Dakota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pepper is female mini poodle who came to SFCR after being retired from a commercial breeding program. A note from her foster momma: Pepper is a shy, sweet little girl who loves to play and follow her foster sister around. She enjoys running outside in the backyard, bully sticks, chew toys, and of course treats! Pepper will need time to warm up but once she does, she will quickly lick your hand and even let you shake her paw. We are still working on her offering her paw to shake. She knows what it means and will put weight on opposite leg so that you can shake the other paw when you say "shake other one".  She knows that brushing her teeth means she going to get a dental stick. She knows to potty outside and hasn't had any accidents since the first day she came. She has learned she will be taken out regularly. Usually every 2-4 hours during the day and then again right before bed and first thing in the morning. Pepper gets along great with her foster sister and they sleep in the same kennel at night. They even share a dog bed during the day while I work at my desk.   ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Leash walking is still a work in progress. Pepper must have another dog to keep her company and boost her confidence. She would be lost without another dog to guide her. Pepper has been spayed and also had a dental. She tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
