Meet Snickers: Your Perfect Adventure Buddy!  Snickers is a charming 10-12 month old, 16-pound blend of Miniature Schnauzer and Beagle. This sweet and loving pup is ready to find his forever family! Snickers loves running with bigger dogs and would probably tell you that he'd prefer to be your one and only dog love. He's a true lover and cuddler, always ready to give big kisses and sit by your side or on your lap. Snickers is crate trained and working on house training, walks well on a leash, and enjoys car rides and adventures as long as you're there with him.  His ideal home would have older kids, probably 7 and up, and he would do best as the only dog in the household. Snickers' unique coloring and scruffy face make him even more adorable, and his loving nature will bring joy and excitement to your life. If you're ready to give Snickers the loving home he deserves, reach out to us!   Interested? Story
Brody is more than just your typical pup; he's a story of resilience, love, and second chances. At 11 months old and 48 pounds, this handsome schnauzer/boxer mix (DNA results pending) is ready to embark on a journey of companionship and discovery with a committed and understanding adopter. He has been in the shelter system nearly his whole life after being surrendered at only five months old to a kill shelter. Despite his past, Brody's spirit remains unbroken, and his enthusiasm for life is infectious. He's a furry bundle of energy, always eager to explore new sights, sniff out intriguing scents, and chase after his favorite toys with unwavering determination. He is just the cutest cuddlebug whose goal is to make friends with everyone he meets. Brody loves to play but prefers smaller dogs as he tends to be a bit more anxious around larger ones. He is not recommended for a home with cats or young children. He’s always up for an adventure with you and is a big fan of hikes and jumping through the water. But beneath Brody's playful exterior lies a gentle soul with unique needs. He's friendly and affectionate, craving human connection but Brody also grapples with OCD and anxiety, which require patience, understanding, and a structured environment to help him thrive. He finds solace in routine and benefits greatly from consistent training and positive reinforcement. Brody's ideal companion is someone who sees beyond his challenges and recognizes the boundless potential within him. Adopters must be committed to providing the love, support, and guidance he needs to overcome his obstacles and become the best version of himself. With the right person by his side, Brody is sure to blossom into a loyal and devoted companion, ready to embark on countless adventures together. He recently spent a month in a board & train program and made tremendous progress. Here’s what the trainer has to say about Brody: • Knows sit, down, stay, come. He also knows look, touch, and shake but not as consistent • Doing much better riding in the car and seeing a decrease in his anxiety • Housetrained, but he will have to be reminded sometimes because he is a puppy, of course. He is taken out once an hour and has gotten better about walking to the door to give a cue • He LOVES his crate and needs nap times throughout the day in there to self soothe • Great problem-solver and reads people's body language very well • With more socialization and continued training, Brody can be one of those dogs that can come with their owner to a lot of places • He needs to be with a family that will be active and give him long 1-2 hr. walks, in addition to playtime in a fenced yard, doesn’t suggest electric • You will need a sense of humor as Brody is a bit of a clown and remember that he is a bit behind on puppy development so puppy-proofing will be a must for now His adoption fee is $450 and Brody is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. You will also be provided with training support and a session, if local. If you are interested in this sweetheart, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org. He's also available to foster or foster-to-adopt. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mr. MAN saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. Mr. MAN is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of October 2021 and in December 2023 has an estimated weight of 50 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Mr. MAN is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love. He loves to play and charge around with his other dogs friends, but equally, it nor a little more, likes to be with his humans, as close as can be. He would be great for a family that wanted a dog to take everywhere with them. He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Mr. MAN is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $100. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily.
