Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Scruffy Faced Hipster LULIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!     Name:  Lulie            Best Guess for Breed:  Schnauzer/Lab       Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of Dec. 2024            SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight (still has some growing to do):  27lbs as of 12/27   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! Lulie was also very gentle with children at an adoption event, although she has not lived with children to our knowledge. We haven't seen Lulie with cats but she can be tested.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Lulie would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Lulie is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Lulie! Me and my littermates, Legend, Loki, Lucy, Lena & Leo, have loved our time together, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?       What My Foster Says About Me: Lulie is doing great! She has some puppy energy and loves to chew on bones and other toys. She is making progress with potty and crate training. She's super friendly with other dogs in our building but fears the bigger pups at first when she meets them. She would probably love another dog in the home to show her the ropes! She's a very loving pup! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.      TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Please contact Destiny Sibert (DestinyS@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Shaggy Boy Searching for a Forever FamilyBEBI NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Bebi        Best Guess for Breed:    Schnauzer/Terrier   Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of January 2025       Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:    34 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids yet but he can be tested. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus. Bebi will need a foster or adopter once he finishes his heartworm treatment. Special Adoption Considerations: Bebi is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Bebi would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.  Bebi is Looking For: His forever home! This sweetie landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He's firmly closed that chapter and is eager to get his new one. The one where he gets his own humans. Where he gets to go on long sniffy walks in the neighborhood, meeting new pup and people pals - and explore the rest of the world! He has all that awesome young-dog energy and needs plenty of opportunities to burn that off. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well, and he wouldn't refuse to try puppacinos and other tasty treats either. But you know what he wants most of all? To be safe and loved for all his days. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does that sound like a good trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once Bebi has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
