Story
This honey girl is so loveable. She is overweight but she is happy. She loves rolling around on the floor and relaxing. She really wants a snuggle bug. She had one litter of kittens and was the best momma. She is fixed now that's why I was told she gained weight.

Story
George joined our family as a kitten in 2015. He is a VERY sweet boy who loves to snuggle. He is also a champion hunter of all household/backyard rodents. He is neutered, microchipped, and litter trained. As an indoor/outdoor city cat, George grew accustomed to a certain level of love & attention (& prey) that is not realistic with his current human/housing circumstances (two children under 3). Naturally, George has been filing complaints through all the proper channels: tussles with our elder cat, litter-box boycotts, damage to property, & most recently aggravated breaking and entering (of a gerbil cage). Although it makes us sad, we think it's time to look for a space where our Georgie-boy can be his sweetest, hunter-est self. Ideal Situation: George would thrive in an older house with plenty of rodent visitors or somewhere with regular outside access. He gets along with cats, dogs, and children - but would strongly prefer a home where he can get LOTS of snuggles and attention.

Story
Dovey was born in June of 2021 with her three brothers on an acreage near Albert Lea. Dovey has worked hard on her trust issues and is now ready to provide love and companionship to some very lucky humans! She is a curious and playful girl who loves her kitty friends and is learning that laps are a pretty great place to be! Due to her wilder start in life, she will probably thrive best in a home with adults and older children, and will need a bit of time and patience to allow her wonderful personality to bloom! She is also an avid fly hunter, bird watcher and loves tailbone scratches! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Felix and his siblings came to us after being found as strays when they were around two months old. We believe Felix was born in August of 2021, and would do well with older children and other animals with proper introduction. Felix is one of 6 in his litter and he is the shy guy of the group. He is very quiet and a bit reserved, but does like to be petted once he knows you. He also enjoys cuddling with his kitty friends and would prefer to have a feline friend in his new home! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Say hey to Doll! Doll came to us after being live trapped during a TNR project when she was around 6 weeks old. We believe she was born in October of 2021. When Doll first came to us she was VERY scared of humans and shelter life. Since then she has warmed up and likes to be petted, get a few tummy rubs and maybe the occasional tail bone scratch once she gets to know you. She will roll over and purr for you but is still nervous of loud noises and fast movements. She will need some extra time to adjust in her new home, and would do best in a home with older calmer children and animals. She is gaining more confidence every day with humans, and will make a wonderful kitty for someone that will give her the time she needs to settle in. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped.
