Here comes Dorothy 🐶💕 who was rescued from a Mass Dog Slaughterhouse. She may need time and help to adjust to a home setting with routine. Like Dorothy in “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” our Dorothy is compassionate and courageous. She used to be cowered herself in a corner of her cage and vocalized her right to be fed but not any longer. As times goes by, her true nature got into light. Even when she had to fast for her spayed surgery, Dorothy was patient and stoic about skipping a meal. 😊 Although she had to take a break every ten steps and to be carried in during her walk at first, Dorothy became a confident walker. She loves to see the wider world and to investigate new and interesting smells by having her nose to the ground much of the walk. Dorothy is not hesitant to express her love. When she felt tired after her ride to a Veterinarian for spayed surgery, she rested her head on the shoulder of a volunteer. It was such a lovely sight!🐶❣️ Dorothy is considerate and will be a good companion in your life. Could you be the one who can give a home to this lovely girl?🙏

Meet Bloo💙 A Colt in Disguise with a Gentle Heart 🐶 When you first see Bloo, you will instantly fall in love with him. Bloo is a playful dog with a face that will melt your heart. He runs like a colt exuberating his freedom which he never had in his early years at Mass Dog Slaughterhouse till his rescue last year. When you enter his crate for cleaning, you have to prepare yourself. Blue’s eyes are lit up when he sees you and eagerly invites you to play with him. Bloo loves to climb on your back and showers you with kisses. It is amazing to see Bloo still has complete faith in humanity despite of the horrible ordeal he had to endure in the Slaughterhouse. Our Bloo is dedicated to people and gets along with other dogs. His love of life now is the representative of our rescue agency but you can be the next one. Bloo is so ready to find his forever home that he is always dreaming of.

Story

Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking today on this earth. He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now. He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up. When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane. The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go. She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great. We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family. Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian. If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours. He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs. If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring. Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall. He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity. Hercules is looking for someone to be their hero. This 3 year old 170 pound Bull Mastiff is massive and definitely the size of a small pony. He is a lazy, affectionate big OOF that needs someone bigger and stronger than him to make him their sidekick in life. Being the only dog would be so good for him since the former owner never socialized him with other dogs. He assumed that Hercules might be a little aggressive or assertive and so we just don’t know for sure. Maybe a female dog would be fine but we doubt a male would be a good idea in the future home. He is not great on a leash. Noone took that time to really train him but it still is doable with the right person knowing how to do it. He is housebroken, crate trained and he is not destructive in the house. This boy will make you laugh, make you want to protect him (even though he is big) and he will love you unconditionally and who in the world would ever break in to your home!? Goodness they would be insane. This boy loves people though….but if you don’t know him then he could be a nice guardian. A fenced yard would be the perfect environment for everyone. Lucky Lucas is a handsome 4 month old Great Dane/Lab mix puppy that is lucky because he was rescued from a very life-threatening situation during this summer’s heat wave in Tennessee. It was over 100 degrees and he was carelessly tied to a post at the local Walmart during the hot, hot day. A foster mom for Critter Cavalry Rescue saw his desperate situation and stepped up and took him home. It seems that this boy was dumped by a homeless man who could not really keep him safe and fed. This foster mom saved his life and we are grateful she had the heart to not turn her back on his need to be saved. No one else cared it seemed that day. He is now in our care and we are working on getting him fully vetted and ready for a new home. This handsome boy is a big couch potato like most Great Danes can be and yet he enjoys going for a walk and THEN hitting the sofa. He also loves to sit by a window and watch the world go by kind of like a cat does. As you can imagine, the bigger the dog, the bigger the heart and Lucas is all about having a wonderful heart. He is a great movie watching pal and is a pro at bedtime snuggling. He gets along very well with other dogs, cats and children. Look at that face. So kissable!!!
