You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Did I catch your eye? Learn more about me by reading my profile below; I just might be your new best friend! Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.   Age: Approximately 8 years old Weight: 7 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Almost! Crate trained: Yes **Requires another dog in the home** **NO CATS OR OTHER SMALL CRITTERS** Shorty gets upset by cats and other "pocket pets," such as guinea pigs, hamsters, or ferrets, and needs a home without them. Have you been looking for an adorable, affectionate, and silly pup who loves being with people? Meet Shorty! He is as mild-mannered and sweet as they come. If relaxed laid-back evenings are what you seek, look no further… he will not disappoint. Shorty will steal your heart and make you laugh with his idiocrasies and quirkiness as soon as you meet him! Shorty is friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs and his humans. He is just a bit unsure at first of people and new places but warms up quickly! When left alone, he's content being gated in the kitchen with his doggy friend lying on his comfy bed. He loves to snuggle, be near his humans, and adores being pet. He will follow you all over, is very alert and inquisitive, and really just wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing. In the evenings, he enjoys resting on a warm lap watching TV. He is typically pretty quiet but will alert you to sudden or unfamiliar noises. Shorty loves being outside with his humans and has moderate energy, so time outside will be a good outlet for him. His favorite pastimes are being outside, sunbathing, chewing on his braided bully stick, getting freeze-dried treats as rewards, and cuddling with his humans in the evening! He also currently has the luxury of sleeping in a soft, warm bed with his foster parents. Shorty is doing well on potty training when kept on a schedule, with few accidents when going outside and using potty pads. Shorty experienced an injury that affects his balance and coordination, and although he does not have a perfect gait and likely never will, he can walk, run, play, and jump. He can be clumsy at times, and the faster he runs or trots, sometimes he will end up tumbling, but he has never hurt himself and always pops up and keeps on going. He does startle to loud noises and will often suddenly jump up very alert, excited, and clumsily, so having soft landing spots will be helpful. We think all this just adds to his adorable quirkiness and silly ideocracies. Shorty is a little goofball who always keeps us laughing and on our toes! Story
Hey there, I'm Meri, and I've got a lot of love to give! Sure, I might have a few challenges with my front paws, but let me tell you, that doesn't stop me from living my best life. Food? Oh, I'm all about it! But don't worry, my foster mom keeps an eye on me so I don't overdo it. I'm quite the gourmet—I'll munch on fruits, veggies, and I go crazy for scrambled eggs. And you know what? I'm all about staying fit too. I love going for walks, playing with toys, and tearing around outside with my furry roommates. Catching some rays in the sun? Yep, that's my jam too. I'm not just a one-species kinda friend. Cats, dogs, chickens, ducks—you name it, I get along with them. Humans? Absolutely! Whether they live here or just popping by for a visit, I'm always up for making new friends. Oh, and did I mention I'm potty trained? Yep, no accidents here. Car rides? Bring 'em on! Although, let's be real, I'm not quite big enough to take the wheel myself. When it's time to wind down, I'm all about some quality cuddle time. But I also appreciate having my own space to snooze. A cozy bed or a kennel? Either works for me, whatever makes you feel comfy. And hey, if you catch me talking in my sleep, it's just because I'm reliving all the fun I had that day. I'm a smart cookie too—I know my basic commands and I'm always eager to learn more. It might take me a bit to warm up to new people, but once I know I'm safe, I'm all in. Oh, and one more thing—I'm not really into wearing clothes or blankets. I'm naturally cozy warm, thank you very much. But you know what I do love? Being rocked and sung to by my foster mom. It's the best! So, what do you say? If you're looking for a furry friend who'll bring you love and companionship every single day, I'm your girl. Let's make some memories together! ##2017803##

Story
Tinkerbell loves playing outside, playing inside and going on walks. She’s an affectionate, 11-pound chihuahua/terrier mix with pretty light brown eyes who wants to stand or sit right next to her people and give them an occasional lick. She likes to run the show with the two other dogs in the house, as she’s the most assertive of the three. She’s obedient and when you tell her to stop doing something, she listens well. She likes eating and has been known to eat other dogs’ food, too, if you let her. Tinkerbell loves other dogs but would also be fine alone. Occasionally barks at people and dogs she sees while outside but not excessively. She just wants to be your pal! Still working on potty training but doing well on a schedule. Tinkerbell was heartworm postitive and has completed her treatment but will need to be checked to make sure that she is healed. Because of the shots she received she did also develope an abcess that we are working on treating. Because of these 2 items she will need to go foster to adopt. But do not let these issues scare you off she will be healthy in no time! ##2037694##

Story
Hi I'm Miley.  I am proud to say my  foster mom tells me how beautiful I am almost every day. She says I'm one of a kind. I'm m not quite sure what that means but I don't find the need to bark much or to be sassy. I'm a lover not a fighter. Belly rubs and snuggles are my favorite! I do great on a potty schedule outside and will use the puppy pad by the door once and a while. I  pick up things pretty quickly and notice everything around me. My mom says I'm smart.   I know the best place to sleep is with my foster parents.  I don't like my kennel much and my spicey side comes out. My mom says I need to stay calm so I don't have to sleep in there.  Lucky me!  I wonder why they keep me calm? I think I heard them talking about me being heart worm positive. Apparently,   I only need to be calm during my treatment period  (How long is that? ) I heard them talking and they said something about me being your foster to adopt dog until my treatment is complete. That is awesome! Then we can live together right away. I don't want to wait  one more day to be with my forever family.  I haven't been out on walk yet since I need to be calm. That can come later.  I get along great with other dogs and fit right in. I know how to be social. I haven't met anyone I didn't like. There are no kids in my foster home but I do well with everyone I've met so far. So I'm guessing that I will like them too. I don't have any cats where I live either so getting along with them is a mystery.  If you love a one of a kind, affectionate, social chihuahua,  then I'm the girl for you! I am worth every effort!       If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2083801##
