Story
Stevie is a 4 year old, 75 lb. Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. We adopted him as a puppy at 4 months old. He has been an amazing family pet, and our kiddos (now 5 and 7 yrs old) have grown up with him. Over the past few months we've had a couple incidents with aggressive resource guarding (bones/toys) and just recently showing aggression toward other dogs at the dog park. He is the only dog in our home so he is a bit territorial. Stevie is high energy, fast and strong and needs regular exercise. He is well trained with basic commands in and around our home, but getting him out into nature he is difficult to contain (hounds & their noses). I am devastated having to consider rehoming him but he requires more consistent behavioral training than we are capable of providing. He would do best in a home with a large yard or preferably in northern AZ in his natural habitat- the woods. Large crate and food will go with him. No fee req. just the right home and owner.

PLAYFUL. LOVING. CURIOUS. Burt is curious, playful and sweet black and white walker/hound mix. At just a year old, he was listed on the county’s euthanasia list due to kennel stress. We knew he just needed time to decompress and the love of a good foster home. This boy loves dogs of all sizes, enjoys meeting new people (including children!) and going to new places and is even cat-friendly! Burt is house-trained, potty-trained and loves his car rides. Burt loves to spend the morning cuddling with his people followed by a day filled with playing with toys and fur siblings! As a younger pup, he is very playful and more energetic, which makes him a perfect companion to take with you hiking, on neighborhood walks and wherever life may take you. Burt’s adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccines, neuter and microchip. Sky is a friendly, wiggly girl once she gets to know you. She is scared and nervous in this new enviroment. She came from a home with many dogs and is unsocialized. It may take her a few visits before she is comfortable with you. She still needs to learn all normal dog things, commands, leash and potty training.While she lived with other dogs we don`t know how she`ll be with your dog. She is unsure and nervous with the dogs here. She seems to do best with a friendly, calm dog. A meet and greet is required with your dog before adoption.Since she isn`t leash trained and is nervous she needs to go to a home with a tall secure fenced yard. Please ask to meet her outside.

WONDERFUL, QUIET 4 YEAR OLD HOUND MIXAll dogs are located in foster homes in southeast Arizona, between Benson and Willcox just off Interstate 10. It is approximately 2 1/2 hours from the Phoenix area or 1 hour east of Tucson. Tripoint is approximately 4 years old and weighs 48 pounds. Poor Tripoint was so scared after being left in a metal for animal control to pick up. Poor Tripoint did not have a lot of hope. Then someone brought in a hot dog, and he became everybody's best friend. This is one of the rescue's favorite dogs. It is amazing to see the wonderful transformation. Tripoint moved right into his foster home, sleeps near the foster's bed and has incredible house manners. He is housebroken and dog door trained. Tripoint is a wonderful boy that will be a great addition to any family. Please come meet this wonderful boy and give him the best years of his life. ELLIE & JAXSON ❤️💚 A sweet 8-year-old pair whose owner passed away is looking for their together-forever family. Some good friends of the owner (who cannot keep the dogs) took them in to help, with hopes of finding them a home. They have reached out for help. Ellie is about 25 pounds and Jaxson is 45 pounds. They are both sturdy low riders 😃 and somewhat long for their height, looking exceptionally cute as they run through the yard. Both are great with people and would like family members who are patient and like to snuggle. We really don't know their breed / mix, but they sure are cute. These two love to cuddle together, romp and play together, and sleep together -- they are truly best friends. Jaxson is a bit timid and whimpers at new things in his life, and he looks to Ellie for his confidence and reassurance. His new family should have a little patience to help him feel comfortable as he encounters new situations and sounds in his life. Due to this, probably no little kids who move fast and make startling sounds that will scare him. He wants to live a playful yet relaxed life with you and his BFF. These pups know their basic commands, sit and stay, but the temporary keepers say .. they're not the brightest, so don't be looking to teach them tricks 😃 They are just happy goofy fun-loving, gentle, affectionate dogs who want to be loved and kept safe.
