Thank you for your interest in one of our dogs!! If you are interested in one of our dogs, please submit an adoption application. An application is REQUIRED to meet our dogs unless you come to a meet/greet event. ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LKR/Dog If the dog is listed on pet sites, it is available for adoption; it is not necessary to call/email to ask if they are available. Meet/Greet Events: You can visit our website to find our when we have scheduled meet/greet events www.luckyk9rescue.org. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have facility for you to come visit our dogs which is why an application is required prior to meeting. Once applications are submitted - if you meet the minimum requirements for the dog you are interested in, the application is forwarded to the foster for their review. It can take time for us and the foster to review all the applications received. This part of the process can take a few weeks, sometimes more. Due to the number of applications we receive for all the dogs/puppies we are not able to respond to everyone as to the status of their application. You will be contacted if you are selected to schedule a meet/greet. Adoption Process: An application is submitted and approved, a meet/greet is scheduled and a home visit is required. The adoption process takes at minimum of a week AFTER your application has been approved and a meet and greet scheduled. If selected as a potential adoptive family you will be contacted by phone, text or email to schedule a meet/greet. Because we are all volunteers and have full-time jobs & families out adoption process does take time. Forever homes are chosen based on the dog's personality and the applicant we feel offers the best fit for the dog. Please be patient with us through this process. Adoption decisions are based input from both the foster family and the board requirements. Adopters are selected based on the best fit for the dog and are not selected on a first come first serve basis. Adoption fees cover: Spay/neuter, clear stool sample, HW test for dogs brought in over 4-mths of age, all required and a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. vaccinations Puppies will have all age-appropriate vaccinations; however, follow-up vetting may be required depending on age but are covered by the rescue at our veterinarian. If over 2 mths of age they are on monthly HW & flea/tick prevention. Our adoption fees vary based on the age of the dog: >>Puppies up to 1yr $350 >>1 yr to 4 yrs $300 >>5 to 7 yrs $250 >>7 yrs and up $200 Who are we: Just like many smaller rescue organizations, Lucky K9 Rescue is 100% volunteer driven. We all work regular full-time jobs and many have families as well. We are foster-based rescue organization, which means all our dogs live in the loving homes of our volunteer foster families. We do not adopt out dogs until they have had time to decompress (typically 3-6 weeks), are fully vetted, we get to know their personalities and ensure there are not any underlying concerns or health issues. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Must own your own home and have a fully fenced back yard - electric or underground fences are not permitted (We do make some concessions regarding fences, but it is on a one-on-one basis and depends on the personality of the dog.

Story
This is Lainey. We believe that she is a 1.5 year old Coonhound mix but she only weighs about 25 pounds! She is a pocket Hound with long ears and legs! Lainey came to Judy's Forgotten Jewells on June 12th. She was brought to us by an Arkansas shelter that needed to open up space for incoming dogs. Since she has been in care, staff members say that she is a wiggly ball of energy and love! She loves attention, other dogs and wagging her tail. She is still working on leash manners and housebreaking but she seems eager to learn! Her adoption fee is $200. The adoption fee includes their care, de-worming, microchip, spay, vaccines, fecal test, and preventatives up to the point of adoption. In addition to their adoption fee, there is a $45 fee to cover the 6 months of heartworm prevention we will send home with each adoptee. The next step to adopt from Judy's Forgotten Jewells is to apply. To apply, visit our website and click the "Apply for Adoption" button on a specific pet's profile. See our adoptable pets and apply: https://judysforgottenjewells.com/view-our-adoptable-pets We adopt by scheduled and confirmed appointments only. We adopt on a first-approved, first-serve basis with a scheduled appointment, so it is important to apply and respond to our follow-up emails as quickly as possible. Puppies and kittens get adopted very quickly. Learn more about our adoption process here: https://judysforgottenjewells.com/adoption-process Questions? Please read our FAQ's here: https://judysforgottenjewells.com/f-a-q Contact us via email: judysforgottenjewellsSTL@gmail.com. Please note that sending an email about a pet is not the same as applying. You must apply to begin the adoption process. Our phone number is for our animal hospital so it is frequently busy. E-mail is the easiest way to communicate with the rescue if you have specific questions. Thank you!

Story
Foster or adopter needed! Meet Calvin Calhound! He’s a 3 year old hound mix weighing around 55 pounds. He was found as a stray in rural SEMO and brought into rescue. Unfortunately, Calvin had been shot and needed his front leg amputated, but that doesn’t slow him down. He’s a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys snuggling his human. We feel Calvin would do best in a home with someone single as he becomes very attached to one person. He does fine with his foster dog siblings, but would be ok as an only dog. Calvin does not do well with cats because of his prey drive. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and on preventatives. Calvin is crate trained, rides great in the car and is treat motivated. He will need an experienced adopter who will continue to work on his manners and one who has a fenced yard. If you would like to be considered for adoption please fill out an application at actnowrescue.net
