Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  I’m Bonnie and I’m a hound dog and I like doing hound things – following bunny trails in the yard, sniffing out the bushes for anything that needs to be “treed”, ensuring all packages entering the house are thoroughly examined for potential dog treats, helping to keep the kitchen clean (floor and counters!), and scoping out the neighbor’s yard from the deck.  My favorites things are going for walks, peanut butter, dog chews and meeting people. I love giving “hound hugs” and get pets. With my curious nature, I investigate everything in the yard and the house. But when I’m done running around outside and have ensured all is good in the house, I’m all up for Netflix and chill, cuddling up with my person and napping. I’ll need a well-built fenced yard (I can climb chain linked fences!) and a cat-free home.  I’m an alpha dog, so I’ll do best in a single dog home and someone to help me with my separation anxiety. I came into the humane society being positive for heartworms (this is caused from being bitten by a infected mosquito which is very common in the USA). They were so nice and helped me go through treatment which took several months, but now I am all better and can’t wait to find my forever home.   Estimated DOB:  05/08/2020  Adoption fee: $200 (6% KY sales tax included)    We would love to hear from you! Story
Koda is a sweet, goofy, and energetic 4-year-old Beagle/German Shepherd mix with a heart of gold and a love for the outdoors. He thrives in open spaces, especially when he’s around other dogs to play with. Koda absolutely loves dog parks, where he gets to run, wrestle, and socialize with other pups — it's when he's at his happiest. That said, city life hasn’t been the right fit for him. The noise, commotion, and limited space have made him anxious over time, and he’s developed some food defensiveness. He’s not aggressive in general, but he does need an experienced and patient owner who can help him feel safe and understood, especially during mealtimes. His ideal home would be in a quieter or rural area with a fenced yard, another large dog or two to bond with, and a person or family familiar with anxious dogs. A calm, structured environment will allow Koda to flourish. For this reason, I’m looking for a home without small children.
