Story
Bogey was adopted from a rescue in North Carolina in 2020 after being rescued from an unfortunate home. He is house broken, walks very well on leash heeding commands of heel and sit, and has generally been a great addition to our family. But we noticed some aggressive behavior centered around resource guarding and his sleeping area. He has had a few instances of biting/snapping when anyone encroaches on his food or startles him while he is sleeping. We have 3 young children, one of which was bitten in an incident last year when she startled him while he was sleeping. Since then we have been very apprehensive about letting our little ones play with him. We had another incident not too long ago where Bogey was trying to eat our other dogs food, and when we intervened he again got aggressive and tried to bite. So we have made the difficult decision to rehome him. In our opinion he would be best suited in a single dog household, with no young children under the age of 10.

Story
Meela is a sweet and petite 40-pound hound mix who made her way to us from southern Virginia. At about a year old, she's a super-friendly, affectionate pup who loves meeting new people and playing with dogs and children of all ages. Since arriving in her foster home north of Boston, Meela has settled in beautifully. Her foster describes her as an absolute treasure - easy-going, curious, intelligent, snuggly and always ready for fun. She enjoys hiking, sniffing, playing with her toys and being with her people. Meela is housebroken, does well in her crate overnight, and is getting the hang of leash walking. She loves field trips in the car! She would love a fenced yard to explore, but is perfectly happy adventuring on a tie out cable. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion, Meela could be the perfect match for you! . If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Trooper and Luther were seized by animal control after being found abandoned and living on chains without food for several weeks. They were underweight and in bad shape. They've now been vetted and have received adequate food and some TLC at a local boarding place. An NECR volunteer visited them and reports that they seem very well adjusted and not at all stressed. Both are loving and seemed pretty calm. Both are comfortable with being handled around face and head. They do need experience with leash walking and do pull but are easily corrected. Trooper has hygromas (fluid in joint areas) on hocks and elbows from years of sitting on pavement and hard ground, but they do not seem to bother him. Trooper is 7 - 9 yrs old and weighs about 45 lbs. Arriving in Massachusetts in early April. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Our handsome Rex is a lovely, gentle older puppy, who has not seen very much of the world in his short life. He was found as a country stray by Greene County Animal Control Officers in North Carolina. When no owner claimed Rex, he was transferred to our Connecticut Rescue.  Rex is an outgoing, friendly dog, who loves people and other dogs. This beautiful boy warms up quickly to a loving, gentle touch. He could easily join an active family with older kids, but he would also thrive in an adult home, or with recent retirees, who can put their dog on center stage in their lives.  Rex appears to be a Lemon Treeing Walker Hound, and he lives up to their lovable reputation. One and a half years old, he is a large dog, at a lean weight of 55 pounds, although he could fill out to 60 pounds and still be within normal weight range. His short, flat tri-colored coat is largely beige with black and white markings. Rex also needs a fair amount of exercise and focused playtime so that he does not become bored and get into mischief. His confidence level would benefit greatly from ongoing obedience training, which is helpful in providing additional mental stimulation. He is slowly learning his commands, although he can become distracted easily. He is very treat motivated and responds well to Positive Reinforcement and Leadership techniques, and seems to enjoy his training sessions.  Rex has good house manners, and is mostly house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Rex, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
This is Missy she is such a sweetheart and is a cuddle bug and is great with anyone and any dog and/or kids you may have. She is very pampered and is house trained and uses potty pads to use the bathroom. She doesn’t know any tricks or anything besides stay and go to bed. But I just want her to be in a home that I would feel comfortable knowing that she’ll be taken cared of properly and will be showered with love. She is my one and only pet that I’ve ever had but due to landlord changes, I’m unable to keep her and it breaks my heart so much. But it’s hard in this economy while going back to college.
