This adorable guy has big shoes (or paws) to fill—both of his parents were hardworking hunting dogs, but Wonton is ready to leave that path behind and step into a life filled with love, play, and companionship.Wonton has already shown his curious, intelligent side, and with that keen nose, he’s eager to explore every corner of the yard and sniff out all the exciting scents the world has to offer. He’ll be happiest with a family who enjoys outdoor adventures and can keep up with his active, hound-like energy. He loves people and other dogs, and he’s quickly growing into a friendly, social guy who’s always ready for a cuddle and a nap after playtime. Because of his high prey drive, he cannot live with cats.He’ll need some guidance as he learns the ropes of family life—introducing him to basic commands and some structure will help him grow into his best self. Wonton is ready for a family that can provide not only love but also mental stimulation and time to enjoy the outdoors. Story
Piper is a wonderful, grateful, loving girl. She is 4 years old and came to us when she was almost 2 years old via Great Dog Rescue New England. She is sweet, playful, loves giving kisses and playing tug with her plushie toys. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She is very food-motivated and knows basic commands (sit, down, stay). She is dog-friendly and playful in off-leash environments such as in a home or enclosed yard. On leash, she barks at other dogs. She is cat-friendly and tries to initiate play with them but is respectful if they are not interested. Piper is not kid-friendly which we learned after she nipped at our toddler. She was sick at the time and this was very uncharacteristic of her but we unfortunately cannot risk it happening again. Piper is an anxious dog and barks at strangers. We are starting her on anti-anxiety medication. She has Masticory Muscle Myositis, an autoimmune disease managed with Prednisone but this medication causes her to urinate frequently.
