Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Plese help Willa, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Riders is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Willa to her new home. This is included in the adoption fee

Sarge is a happy boy who has the softest ears and the most beautiful eyes.He was surrendered after 2 years when he grabbed a kid's hand while the kid was playing basketball causing the hand to be bruised (but there was NO broken skin). It is very possible he went for the ball and accidently got the hand instead. There were never any other incidents ever prior to this event. Just to be safe, a home without young children is preferred (teenagers should be ok). Sarge is good with other dogs having lived with 4 other dogs for the last several years. We do not know what he thinks of cats. He is very playful and he responds well to treats for training. Sarge is about 4 years old and 66 pounds. Please help Sarge find the loving home he deserves. Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If they have been housebroken in the past, they will need time to acclimate to a new home routine from the shelter. This 3-year old, 52-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is the queen of cuddles and she lovvvves being pet, massaged, and rubbed all over. Fully housebroken, you’ll have no concerns about Suzi’s bathroom habits. She is comfortable on a leash and she does all her business outside. At home, she likes to frolic in the backyard, particularly if she’s got another dog to play with. She doesn’t show much interest in toys yet, but she will never refuse a treat or a table scrap! Initially shy, Suzi needs a few minutes to warm up to unfamiliar people, especially males, but once she does, you’re a forever friend. Loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle Suzi, but she never acts out aggressively. Generally calm and quiet, Suzi is as gentle as they come, and her kind soul is ever present. She just needs a little reassurance that her world is safe. Suzi travels well, she shares her possessions with ease, and she rarely barks. She is still coming out of her shell, but once fully emerged, it’s obvious Suzi is going to continue to blossom and shine.
