Story
Hello all! This handsome and talkative guy is Bert. Bert was found with his friend, Archie, roaming the streets with no place to call home. Bert & Archie were found as strays and therefore, we do not know much about either of them. What we do know, is that they LOVE to use those hound dog voices! They never miss a chance to let people know that they`re in the building and that they want to go on a nice walk. Bert and Archie seem to be good at making dog friends, but as always, we recommend slow and monitored introductions between either of them & any new people or animals in the home. We do not know how they are with cats. Hound breeds tend to have a `prey-drive` when it comes to cats and small animals, so it is imperative to always keep that in mind when looking to adopt these intelligent, personality-filled dogs.

Story
(DOB 08/02/2021)  Victor is the ultimate "shadow dog." Wherever you go, Victor will be right by your side, offering unwavering companionship. His clingy nature means you’ll never feel alone with Victor around. Victor's heart is big as his 60-pound frame. This sweet, snuggly boy is looking for a forever home where he can share his boundless love, energy, and a bit of playful mischief. Victor's mischievous side keeps life interesting. He’s always up for a little harmless trouble, especially if it involves his favorite toys. His playful spirit makes him a joy to be around. Victor’s goofy personality shines through in everything he does. He’s a bit of a klutz, which only adds to his charm. Whether he’s accidentally bumping into things or making you laugh with his silly antics, Victor is sure to keep you entertained. And when it’s time to relax, he’ll be right there, giving you gentle hugs and soaking up all the snuggles. Victor has plenty of energy and enjoys his walks, making him a great companion for an active household. He walks well on a leash and is always excited to explore new places with you. He also loves playing with toys, so be ready for some fun playtime sessions! Victor is not just a people lover—he gets along great with other dogs and has even made some frog friends in the yard! He'd love a home with another pup but would likely do well as an only dog as long as you plan to spend PLENTY of time with him!  Victor is a smart boy who’s currently working on his crate training. With a little patience and consistency, he’ll master it in no time. As part of Victor’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Victor, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2220963##

Story
(DOB 10/31/2022) Willow’s ideal forever family would have sweet kids who love to play and spend time with her, especially in a fenced-in yard. Willow is a true outdoor enthusiast, and if there are squirrels around, she’ll be in heaven, running after them; maybe one day we will see her tree climbing skills as she follows their trail! Willow also enjoys daily walks with her family and is pretty good on a leash and is learning to not pull when she sees those furry little critters. Speaking of fences, she’s got some serious “basketball jumping skills,” so she’ll need a solid, 6-foot tall fence to keep her safe while she runs around, romps, runs, and explores. Willow can be describe as a lovable and sweet hound with a gentle heart! While she’s a little shy at first, her kindness shines through once she gets to know you. Willow is the type of dog who tries her best to please everyone she meets and quickly becomes a loyal friend. She adores playing with her foster sister and would do best in a home with another friendly, happy 4-legged sibling who enjoys fun and companionship. Though Willow is still working on her potty training, she’s making fantastic progress. Sometimes, she gets so caught up in her excitement to play that she forgets it’s potty time too, but she’s learning fast. Willow is also crate trained and would love a family where someone is home often, but she’s happy to ride along as your travel buddy whenever you hit the road.  In the kitchen, Willow is eager to "help" – or rather, snag a tasty snack when you’re not looking! If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who loves to please, Willow might just be the perfect fit for your family. As part of Willow’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Willow, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2340230##

Story
Are you an active person? Like hiking and being outdoors? Then I'm the dog for you. I'm kylo and I was surrendered by my owner because I wouldn't hunt. What can I say? I'm a lover, not a fighter. I'm about 3 1/2 and housetrained and crate trained.  And, if it couldn't get any better I'm good with dogs and cats. It would be great if I had a dog friend too. I would be at my best with older children. Sometimes I forget how big I am. So hurry before you miss out on getting your new best friend. ##1626861##

Story
Meet Maybelline or "May Mayyyy" as we like to call her, our 4 year old lowrider mix. She is known for her little legs and big heart, and she is sure to make you fall for her with all the love she gives! She also LOVES nothing more than to cuddle and ask for rubs... all day, everyday! Maybelline is currently living with another dog and has done great with him, given a slow integration period. She loves to follow her foster brother Cooper around and seems to really enjoy his company. Previous to being rescued, she was living outdoors, and since arriving to her foster home, she has shown some leash reactivity/excitability when seeing other dogs that results in her getting hyped up. She has struggled with initial meetings with unfamiliar dogs and requires slow and controlled introductions. Unfortunately we may not be able to have her participate in a dog-to-dog meet prior to adoption in a safe way. If her future home has another pet, we would suggest doing a very slow separation/integration in order to introduce and integrate her into the home with other dogs. She would also do just fine as an only pet! She is working hard with her foster mom with her leash skills, because she does get quite excited when seeing other dogs on walks. Maybelline was undergoing heartworm treatment, but has since COMPLETED THEM! She is no longer on restricted exercise and can continue to being a regular dog and living her best life! Maybelline is starting to attend some training sessions with her foster mom now she has recovered from treatments. Her future home will benefit from working on leash manners, relationship building and basic obedience skills and our rescue is happy to provide resources and financially support some training sessions for her future family! We think May May would thrive in a home that is lowkey and with a family that would spoil and love her endlessly She's a pretty quiet girl with great manners, and is looking to explore/learn a whole new world of love and adventure with her new family! Story
Hello, this is Bowie! He is about 5-6 months old. He is a Pitbull-Hound Mix (not what was listed, I just couldn't find his specific breed). He is super handsome, energetic, and loving! He is still very young, so he could use more training. However, he is trainable, and he picked up on basics pretty quickly, so I have no doubt he will adapt to a new environment just as quickly. He has very bright and energetic energy, so he needs love, affection, and playtime!
