Story
Porter was rescued by my partner from South Carolina when he was about 2 years old and is now 7-8. He shared a home with a small dog until that dog passed and then spent a lot of time alone until a little over a year ago when i came into the picture. Porter has calmed down a bit but is still what we call "voiceterous"! He is house trained, likes to jump when he first meets people, loves lamb treats and the dog park. He requires someone with the time to continue training him and someone who understands if you are female,, he may be very protective. He does not care for rain, thunder and fireworks. He is just learning to play and sometimes doesn't seem to understand how big he is when playing. Loves scratches and to bow his head down so you can kiss his head, will lock you but never gave kisses (unless you have food ;). Wants any/all food!

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: 3 years (as of 02/07/24) Weight: 41.6 lbs (as of 05/30/24)   This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Meet Rosalie, an adult dog with a heart full of love. She's a sweet soul, always ready to play and interact with those around her. Rosalie is smart and friendly, making her a joy to be around. She has been a loving mom to a litter of pups, showing her nurturing and caring nature. Her intelligence shines through in her quick learning and adaptability.  She is working on house training, crate training, and walking on the leash and think this smart lady will pick up these important skills in no time! Rosalie's playful demeanor makes every day a fun adventure. She's the perfect addition to any family, bringing joy, laughter, and a lot of love. Rosalie deserves a home where she can continue to share her sweetness and love, and in return, she'll be a loyal and loving companion. Adopt Rosalie and let her fill your life with happiness and companionship. Rosalie’s story: Rosalie, mom to the New Moon litter, has a beautiful tale of compassion and rescue.  A foster volunteer at our southern rescue partner, leaving her office, encountered a stray dog, visibly emaciated, yet wearing the proud badge of a nurturing mother.  Following her instincts, the volunteer trailed the canine heroine to a nearby house, where an elderly couple resided. As fate would have it, there lay a precious litter of pups, snug under the home, where Mom had made them a safe nest. Determined to help, the volunteer reached out to additional rescue volunteers and plans unfolded to extend a helping hand. The following morning, the rescue received the green light to welcome this courageous family. With the selfless dedication of the volunteers the rescue’s mission unfolded seamlessly requiring the volunteers to physically crawl through a tiny opening and underneath the house to reach Rosalie’s precious babies and bring her and them to safety. Investigations revealed the homeowners had no knowledge of the little mom’s existence, further solidifying the need for rescue intervention.  Rosalie, along with her precious litter of puppies, is now under the loving care of their rescuer where they have been thriving and getting ready for their next chapter with SOS. Medical Note:  This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia.  This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. July 15, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $500
