Story
Stella does not show any feelings of superiority or showiness -- she is humble and modest and has a soft and serene meow. Stella is sweet, easy going and lovable. She delights in hiding in small dark places or treasures a favorite bedroom. When Stella curls up for a nap, she covers her nose with her tail! Stella appreciates a windowsill to sit on to watch what's going on outside. She enjoys having her chest massaged and her head petted. Stella adores being cradled and sleeps with her human companion at night. When she is picked up, Stella melts into a puddle of fur. Her ideal home is with an individual or couple, an adult human home. Stella will hit it off with a human and seek out that one person to be her constant companion and whom she will be protective of. Stella is bonded with littermate Zeus; therefore, they must be adopted together. A home with no other pets is perfect. She is a 9-year-old Turkish Angora with odd eyes (heterochromia) and has an elegant body with a plumed tail. Stella is declawed on the front paws and must be an inside cat only (Friends of Jackson County disapproves declawing as the claws are a vital part of every cat). She is on special food for digestive issues. Stella has severe flea allergies that can be kept in control with flea prevention. Please consider the additional expenses to keep Stella healthy and comfortable. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. All pets are in a home environment cared for by a foster person who provides temporary care until the pet can be placed in a permanent home. Story
Zeus, he rules as the king of gods in the home as though he was in Mount Olympus! Zeus loves to be near his human companion and follows you from room-to-room; he will most often be nearby. Zeus is vocal when he wants something, if you ignore him, Zeus will tap you on the face with his paw! He will bump your hands for petting and if that doesn't work, expect a love bite. Zeus is known to jump on your shoulder to perch. He will seek out a windowsill to get a view of his kingdom. Zeus uses a wall mounted corner scratcher when filled with cat nip. He tolerates being brushed and picked up. Zeus' ideal home is with an individual or couple; he makes friends easily with male humans. Zeus will form a close personal relationship with his human family and protect them from strangers. Zeus is bonded with littermate Stella; therefore, they must be adopted together. A home with no other pets is perfect. He is a 9-year-old Turkish Angora with odd eyes (heterochromia) and has a tall body with a plumed tail. Zeus is declawed on the front paws and must be an inside cat only (Friends of Jackson County disapproves declawing as the claws are a vital part of every cat). He has a moderate heart murmur and occasionally may become anemic. Currently Zeus is not on any formal treatment and doing well. Story
Gypsy is playful, enjoys catnip toys, sparkle balls, teaser wands and feathers. She appreciates places to hide and enjoys napping at the top of a cat tower. Gypsy gets a charge out of being in a Catio (enclosed patio for cats) where she can watch the birds and chase bugs. Gypsy came to Friends of Jackson County rescue traumatized when discovered on an interstate ramp. Her post traumatic symptoms are fearfulness and interacting with people. Gypsy does not like to be held, confined or being put in a trapped situation. In a stable home with routines and a respect for her fear, Gypsy is a perfectly pleasant house cat. She needs stability, space and her human companion to respect her boundaries and limitations. Gypsy will be dependent on you to take care of her. Her ideal home is with adult people, preferably someone who is experienced with cats and is capable of continuing to work with her and follow her care and training plan to continue positive progress. Gypsy must be an inside kitty only. She is very social towards other cats and gentle with kittens. It would be in Gypsy's favor if she was adopted with another cat that she pals around with; recommendation can be provided. A home with no dogs is preferred. Gypsy is 1 year old with a black medium length coat. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. Story
Josephine is sassy, saucy and brassy but she is a doll! She goes for basking in the sun, lounging on a cat tree and feasting on lickable cat treats. Josephine chirps like a songbird when she wants something and can be very persuasive with those big eyes! She is shy and apprehensive with new people and new places but with love, patience and plenty of lickable treats Josephine should be confident quickly. She is skeptical of loud noises, such as, a dishwasher or vacuum cleaner. Josephine’s ideal home is with an individual, couple or family with older children. A home that is quiet and calm. She would do best in a home with a feline friend. Josephine will be fine with a cat-friendly dog that is mature and has a tranquil demeanor. A slow introduction to any new pets is needed. Josephine is 1-year-old with a blue medium length coat. She has a semi-cobby body with a small frame, big round eyes that are bright and full of color.
