Story
Esme is a simple girl that came to our attention at Critter Cavalry Rescue as she struggled to find a place to raise her 7 puppies that she birthed.  The odds were stacked but she managed to bring 3 of the 7 puppies through to the place that they could be adopted during the coming weeks.  This girl is 2 years old, weighs 35 pounds and has a sleek, beautiful demeanor that speaks to everyone she meets with a kindness and courage.  Esme is learning how to enjoy the niceties of being an inside dog as she has raised her puppies.  She is housebroken, crate trained and is good with all the other dogs and cats at the foster home.  She is around young active children (boys) and she keeps her calm demeanor through all the activities of the children. She loves people so much and just to be with someone.  She is food motivated and very bright and can learn so much if you use the treat method to win her attention and desire to learn a trick or commands. She is a great medium energy girl that is ready to chase a toy or ball but has not gotten the memo on how to bring it back to the person who threw it. She is wonderful on a leash and has a slight playful side to her. This pretty girl is really not big at all and on the smaller side of a Lab and she demands little from life or her people.  We are wanting the sun, moon and stars for her future with a new family. Could you give that to her?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Hello, my name is Sequoia! I am an 11-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer. I came to the rescue after I was hit by a car and lost my back leg. Don't be fooled. I may only have three legs, but I have every ounce of GSP energy my four-legged GSP friends have. I can hold my own. I love everyone and everything. I want all the humans and dogs to be my friends. My foster family says I have a ton of goofy GSP energy. I play hard, but when I am done, I just want to snuggle and sleep on someone. I haven't been around a lot of cats, but I am sure I would have fun chasing them. I love to explore. My foster family told me I shouldn't put everything in my mouth, including fingers. They keep saying I need to stop being rough and "mouthy. I am doing my best, but sometimes I get so excited that I forget. I love to wrestle and play tug of war with my friends in my foster home. I admit, I can be wild and could probably knock over small children. It wouldn't be on purpose, but I should probably be in a house with older or dog savvy children who want to run around and play with me. My foster mom says I am a smart cookie! I don't know what that means, but I do like cookies. I know how to sit and lay down. I don't always listen to stay and come but I know what they mean. I sleep in my crate at night and when my foster family is away from the house. I would prefer to be out, but I am fine looking out the window watching for birds before my nap. If I hear someone, I whine, but once I know I am not getting out I settle down and go to sleep. I always go potty outside, but I hear that regression is common in new environments. I might only have 3 legs, but I get "birdie just like all the other bird dogs I know. My foster mom always tells me not to pull on the leash but when I see something moving, I really want to hurry up and get to it. I love that I can run around in my fenced yard. I would prefer to have a fence in my furever home. I enjoy sitting outside and watching the birds fly by, then chasing them when they come close. I am hoping that my furever home is going to be with people who enjoy taking me for short walks, who will be patient as I continue to work on my leash manners, who will play fetch with me, then let me snuggle on them while I take a nap. I would love a fenced-in yard to run around and watch for birds. I am hoping I can continue to have the company of another active dog who won't get too mad at me when I get crazy. My foster siblings sometimes tell me I get too rough. I am still working on that. My foster mom says I need to go to a home where they have experience with my high energy breed. I am UTD on my shots and was recently spayed. I will need to meet all resident dogs to make sure they can handle my energy. I am being fostered in Mohnton, PA and prospective adopters may need to travel here for a meet & greet. If you think you could give me a forever home, please apply to adopt me on the Zoe's House website: www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoes House, Inc Kennel license # 9117 Po box 2372 Reading pa 19608
