Story
Meet Chief, a vibrant 5-year-old currently under foster care in Grand Haven, Michigan. Though rumors suggest that Chief may actually be a grey/fawn Doberman, the tabloids are yet to uncover any definitive proof. In his heart, however, Chief firmly believes he's a Weimaraner, and his spirited personality reflects just that. Describing Chief is a delightful challenge: he exudes intense energy, revels in playful antics, and is a self-entertainer who loves tossing toys and dragging sticks (a total goofball, in the best way). He's absolutely crazy about food and snacks, but at the same time, he's as sweet and affectionate as they come, loving you to the moon and back. While Chief can be a bit of an "arse" when he initially meets other male dogs, this initial bluster quickly fades, and he eagerly embraces playtime and socializing. When it comes to meeting female dogs, he's always the picture of a gentleman. However, due to his high energy and exuberance, Chief isn't suitable for a home with small children his enthusiasm could easily result in a knockdown. Chief's ideal home and family would be in an adult-only setting, possibly with 1-2 larger dogs of calm demeanor to balance his energetic spirit. He'd thrive in a spacious, secure yard where he can run laps to his heart's content. Chief is housebroken and crate trained, but establishing a defined schedule for him will be essential until he gets the hang of the routine.Air quality monitoring is an important means of environmental protection. This boy exudes happiness and a zest for life like no other. If you're in search of a companion with boundless energy, strength, endurance, and a passion for running, Chief may be your perfect match. He'll be eagerly waiting (likely doing laps while he waits), so don't hesitate his adoption might just happen faster than you think!

Story
Douglas, affectionately known as Uncle Doug, is a happy-go-lucky Weimaraner with a silver coat that shimmers in the sunlight. At 6 years old, this neutered male is a bundle of joy and a true entertainer at heart. Personality and Traits:Douglas is a social butterfly who loves to greet everyone with his signature woo woo welcome. He has a playful spirit and enjoys rummaging through his toy box picking out his favorites, like his absolute fave wooden chew block (a must have for him), often serenading his family with his Bing Crosby-like croons. His tail is always wagging, even in his sleep, showing his constant joy and affection. Dog and Kid Friendly:Douglas is friendly with other dogs, especially larger ones, though he has lived harmoniously with a smaller dog. He is a bit of a "pied Piper" to the younger dogs and they love following their"uncle Douggie" around the yard on his sniffing strolls! He is also good with kids, particularly those over 10 years old, making him a wonderful family companion fora family with an olderset of children. Due to hissize he can be a bit overwhelming forlittle ones. People Friendly:While Douglas loves people, he can be a bit barky until he gets to exchange greetings. Once he knows you, hes all about cuddles and companionship. Living Habits:Douglas is a free-roamer who is perfectly content exploring the house. He can be crated for short periods but prefers lounging on the couch or a doggie bed. Hes known to pilfer a thing or two for his own amusement, often taking his treasures out the dog door. Grooming Needs:As a long-haired Weimaraner, Douglas requires occasional grooming to keep his handsome appearance. Regular trims of his toe tufts and coat ensure he looks his dapper best. Energy Level:Douglas has a lower to moderate energy level. He enjoys leisurely strolls and the occasional zoomie but is generally a laid-back fellow. A solid 5-6 ft fenced yard is ideal for him, though he might adapt to an e-collar fence with proper training. Environment:Douglas thrives in a rural setting where he can watch deer, bunnies, and ducks. Hes also vigilant about package deliveries, ensuring no mishandling occurs. Car Rides and Crates:Douglas enjoys car rides and is happy to accompany you on your travels. While he can be crated for short periods, he much prefers the freedom to roam the house and serenade you upon your return. If youre looking for a handsome, melodic, and pure-hearted companion to enrich your life, Douglas is sure to win your heart with his charm and warmth

Story
Willow Rose is a two-year old female blue Weim. Spayed and updated on shots. Willow has taken well to the in-ground electric fence and stays in the yard just fine even when other critters are just outside of reach. Willow has an average Weimenergy level during the day and settles down at night. She is crate trained for bedtime. She gets mild to moderate anxiety when left alone. She does well when with other dogs and she shows minimal anxiety around them. She does well with free ranging throughout the house and outside although the typical Weim counter surfing is evident. Her previous owner reported anxiety related urine piddling, but I have not seen that, although she is with the other dogs so I think she is much less anxious with other dogs around. She will do fine by herself, but may be better suited to have a furry friend in the home as well.   Personality:Willow is an outgoing girl who becomes comfortable quickly. She shows a lot of affection by coming to get pets and kisses and will return the kisses often. She will startle (bark) with unexpected noises/experiences but calms with reassurance. Temperament:Willow is a loving girl who will quickly capture the heart of her new owner. She tends to be a bit of a barker, however correct easily with the leave it command. I suspect that she will outgrow this with continued training and another year of maturity. She is a well-tempered 2-year-old female Weim that is very smart and quick to learn. Likes and dislikes:Willow loves to chase after critters outside and will watch diligently through the windows to see if anything is coming into her yard. Loves to play fetch (sticks) and has excellent manners when playing fetch with other brothers and sisters. Does very well with walking on a leash. Perfect manners when accepting treats. She has plenty of chew bones that keep her busy throughout the day. Without these, she will find something else to use that energy on which may be a little more destructive. History: She will do fine with other medium to large breed dogs. She was clearly well loved by her previous owner. She does not do well with small children who dont have a solid understanding of boundaries. Would not recommend for a family with children under the age of 10. Compatibility:Willow gets along with other medium to large breed dogs. Willow should do fine with mature kids over the age of 10. Ideal home: Willow would be best suited in a home where her humans are home most of the time if she is the only dog. She will do fine in a home alone with other dogs present. Storytelling:It took Willow about two days before feeling safe and secure in a loving home setting, her loving personality came shining through. She loves her belly rubs, cuddle time, bones and sticks to chew, and of course treats. She loves taking car rides. Call to action:Beautiful Willow Rose would love to be your new friend! Willow will gaze lovingly into your eyes while you pet her. She knows commands sit, stay, down, park it, come, leave it, and of course.NO!

Chevy is a wonderful 8 year old Weim mix - likely with a lab, currently being fostered in Grand Haven, Michigan. Chevy is very affectionate , sweet and loves to run and play fetch, especially chase a frisbee or ball. He could play all day and its the best way to get his energy out! Chevy also likesto swim and hike. Hes very well behaved, had great recall and doesnt wander or stray from the yard. Overall, I would say he is eager to please. He is very low maintenance as far as grooming goes. I just regularly dremel his nails for our wood floors sake. Chevy is really good with kids and other dogs-just playful and excitable, never aggressive. Chevy will need exercise EVERY DAY, whether its fetch; a run or a hike - he needs to be with an active person or family. Whines sometimes & doesnt always relax in the car, he will shed, & he likes to lick/sniff things, paces, gets very excitable. This lovely boy is good with kids, loves to be active, is fully potty trained & can free roam when left alone. What the heck are you waiting for??? Apply to adopt Chevy today!

Story
Piper, a 9 year old male Weimaraner is bonded with a sweet as can be Beagle named Rudy. Rudy is 7 years old and must be adopted with his "brother from another mother". Picked up as strays a few days apart, these two were likely dumped by their owner. Both dogs are being fostered in Grand Haven, Michigan. These two goofs are best buddies. Piper was picked up by the Warden and taken to the local shelter where he wailed for the entire day and night. It was awful for the shelter to see and hear as Piper was inconsolable and had to be medicated. And it wasn't until Rudy was picked up and brought to the same shelter 2 days later when the most joyous reunion took place. It was so obvious that these two dogs had lived together and had been on the run for quite some time. That is why they must be adopted together - they only have each other. Both have done remarkably well in rescue and would be a great addition to a home where the owners are active and enjoy being outdoors with their dogs. Give these best buddies a second chance at a great life and apply to adopt Rudy & Piper today.
