Story
Mason is officially available for adoption. He will need to stay with his foster home until after Sunday the 23rd but we are taking applications for him now and can arrange meetings after approval. He js located in Warrenton, VA Mason #hmrmason is around 18 months old and weighs 21 lbs. he is a wire coated dog so will require minimal grooming and should not shed much. He took a bath in his fosters kitchen sink this morning and was perfect. He is a shy and timid boy at first but in all of his foster homes he settles in and becomes quite the affectionate ham. He will do best in a home with a mature and confident dog that can become a mentor and playmate. We are unsure of how he will be with cats or foul as he is still nervous around them now. We expect with proper training he will do fine in a home with varied other animals. He is quite scared of trucks, tractors and other loud moving objects, he is working on this daily and slowing gaining confidence but it is unlikely he will handle highly urban walks well for awhile. He crates well and is working on becoming fully housebroken but an adopter will need to continue using a crate to help him adjust to a new home and routine. He finds his crates to be his safe places and even if loose will run into his crate if he becomes scared. Mason can also climb fences and while we definitely think he will learn to be a “backyard dog” he will not be safe to be let loose in a fenced in yard for sometime. Adopters need to be willing to take him on multiple daily leash walks even if it is simply in your fenced in yard. This is an absolutely adorable and well behaved young dog who will be a wonderful companion but will need an adopter willing to help him for a few months as he gets into a permanent home and establishes a routine for his new furever life. Story
This darling little 17 pound 2 year old girl is called Happy Heidi and she has a little mixture of what we call…..”adorable” genetics.  Maybe a little Jack Russell and a little Cairn Terrier?   Whatever it is we know that you will be delighted to bring this girl home to your family life any way you look at it.  She is good with other dogs, no matter how big and we have not seen her with cats.  She is working on her housebreaking and crate training.   She is not a dog for an apartment as she will bark if left in a crate for hours on end.  She is a busy girl that loves to be outside running her foster home’s fenced yard.  She is a cuddler and loving girl that will be someone’s shadow and adoring companion.  She is pretty good on a leash but could use some polishing.    She was found as a stray and would love to have someone home more than away for a 9 hour work day.  This little girl is pure gold and a joy to have around.  If you are interested in adopting or knowing more, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 24, 2025, 5:27 pm

Please contact Mary Naughton (mary.naughton@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Utterly adorable stubby legged cutie seeking forever! OLD FASHION NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Old Fashion         Best Guess for Breed:  Cairn terrier and Australian shepherd mix - or schipperke mix? Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of March 2025         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:   32 lbs as of March 2025 - needs to drop a few   Gets Along With:  Old Fashion is great with other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area boarding partner   All about Old Fashion:  Old Fashion is a delightful dog who ended up in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He's closed that chapter and is eager to once again have his own humans! And to make new pup pals - he is very dog friendly and enjoys meeting new dogs. He is truly a lovely dog - here's what his foster said about him:   'Old Fashion is one of the most awesome fosters I have ever had. He is just so happy, confident, social, and loving! I brought him home to my own 8- and 19-pound dogs, along with my 13- and 41-pound foster dogs. He was just fantastic with them all - so friendly, so polite, so gentle with my small dogs. All five of them love human attention, and I am one person - and Old Fashion was very patient, waiting for his turn with me. And when I called him over - oh, he was so happy, so loving, so eager for all the pets and snuggles.   He is really good in the home! Very polite - no chewing on unauthorized items, four on the floor when greeting me, waited his turn to be fed, no accidents in the home. Quiet in his crate (wasn't super excited to go in but complied and was chill in there).   He loves walks! And is just so social on walks - he wants to say hi to every dog and every person he meets, but is also happy to walk past without greeting them if I tell him to do so.   The shelter he came from 'guessed' he's a Cairn terrier and Aussie mix. I don't think so. His frame, coat (with the rough strip down the back), ears, everything - I'm betting he's more of a schipperke mix. Probably a breed unfamiliar to the shelter. Schipperkes are such great little dogs and that fits Old Fashion to a T!'   Old Fashion also got to go out for a day with a volunteer, who loved him as much as his foster did. In her words: 'The little guy is awesome. Very happy, confident little dude, super easy to walk, very good in the car. We drove to the dog park and he had a blast for a few hours.  He was very dog friendly.'   Old Fashion is just all-around wonderful. He and his forever family will be very lucky to have each other.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
