Story
Tyler is a 10 year old Wheaton Terrier/Poodle mix, around 26 lbs.  Tyler's a handsome boy who's one of the most affectionate dogs ever. He was previously abused and had a very hard time trusting new people but he's a different dog now and has learned most people are kind.   Tyler must have an experienced dog owner, no first time dog owners please. Adopters must be in the metro Atlanta area.  He's most familiar with women and would do best with a female owner or a loving couple. No single male homes will work. Tyler loves women! Any men in the home need to be loving, doggie dad. Tyler is smart, he will know if you‘re a “dog person” or not.   He does best in a calm, quiet home with not much activity, including guests coming and going. The ideal age range for Tyler is 50‘s to early 60’s, someone more settled with a calm lifestyle. He is not used to children at all and is happiest as the only pet in the home. Tyler is still active and playful and loves leash walks. He is still strong on leash which is why we ask for 50 to early 60’s age range.   Tyler is housebroken, neutered and current on shots. Adoption fee is $300.   August 5, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
We acquired Hufflepuff from a breeder in Texas who breeds purebred Wheaton Terriers. She has been the sweetest dog to us and just wants human love all the time. However, when she came into our home we had another dog and they got into fights and so she acquired animal aggressive behavior. She is 100% not aggressive to humans and is completely safe with kids of all ages and adults. She do not have food or toy aggression. She does not bark a lot or play with toys but loves companionship and naps. She is turning 6 this year on Halloween (Oct 31 is her actual birthday). She needs a home that would love to have a pet for companionship but not so much someone that wants a dog to go on walks with. She needs a secure backyard and someone that is okay with not introducing her to other dogs and cats. (Unless she were to be in formal training to remove aggressiveness towards animals). She must have haircuts (we do it) and has no issues with brushing, shaving, or cutting hair and nails.

Story
Max was surrendered by his owner who could no longer care for him due to his owner's medical condition. Max is a v very sweet and loving boy. Max loves playing with his toy and being by his person's side. Max weighs 40 lbs. and recently turned 8 years old. Max is completely house trained. Max will need a secure fence. Max is : Friendly, likes other dogs and people Eager to learn, wants to please Good energy for going on a walk or to play at the Dog Park After getting exercise, he is content to relax with his person for the rest of the day Max can be left alone, uncrated and will not ruin anything or have an “accident” in the house Max is housetrained and will go to the door or whine a little when he wants to go outside to the bathroom Max is a great sleep buddy and will stay in your bed until you are ready to get up whether it’s early or you want to sleep in. Max is handsome, sweet and loves his person but is not demanding of your time Max loves to go for a ride in the car, open the door and he will enthusiastically jump right in. If someone comes to the door, Max will not charge at the door if you just give him a quick “stay” command. He will patiently wait in the hallway. Max will “sit” on command. Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com. You must have a vet reference to adopt. We verify the care of past/current pets.
