Meet Paramore: Our Sweet Little Two-Year-Old Wheaton Momma!
Paramore is a gentle and sweet two-year-old Wheaton Terrier who has had a challenging start to life, being used as a breeder at a local puppy mill. Despite her past, she has a loving heart and is looking for a very special, warm, and loving home to help her recover from her trauma.
Paramore is generally very afraid of most people and new situations, but she finds great comfort in her much bigger foster fur brother. We would love to see her go to a home with a sweet, well-balanced pup who will continue to show her that the world can be safe and maybe even fun! She loves being outside with her foster's pup, where they do quick zoomies, explore, and sniff all the things. After their outdoor adventures, they come inside and chew on ice together, side-by-side.
Paramore does enjoy walks but approaches them cautiously in new places. A slow pace and a quiet area would be best to help her develop confidence. She has done well with kids who have visited her foster home, but she would be happiest in a quieter home. Gentle, school-aged or older children who respect her boundaries would be best for her.
Paramore doesn't have a mean bone in her body—she is just very scared. We believe there is a perfect, calm, patient, and loving home out there waiting for her, and she can't wait to meet you.
Preference will be given to adopters who live within one hour of 22974. Due to her difficult start in life being used as a breeder in a puppy mill, training with Green Dogs Unleashed will be required for adoption, whether in-person or virtual.

We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
