Story
Welcome to Oregon Pingo! Pingo hails from Mexico and when he's your friend, boy is he ever your friend! Pingo was definitely a street dog but he's quickly learned to trust SSDR's founder and volunteers after a rough start in life. This guy's loves to run, hop and leap around my backyard, sniffing and exploring and tracking squirrels. He's very smart and we're looking forward to teaching him an agility course! Pingo knows, off, come, kennel and he does not like soiling his living environment and will "hold it" in his kennel for up to 8 hrs while his foster is at work. He likes sporting doggy tees! He loves canned food mixed in his kibble, collagen chews, esophagus, and has a couple of special stuffies and will roll on his back, gripping them in his paws. CUTE DOG BEHAVIOR ALERT! Did we say LAP DOG? Pingo will probably do best as an only dog but we feel he can coexist with playful, docile females. Pingo will probably be best in a no kids home as he can get jealous of others stealing attention from his fave people. He's a one owner kinda dude. NO CATS Pingo is around 30 lbs, at 3 yrs old, is long-legged and runs fast but settles nicely after outdoor activity and playtime. To apply for PINGO please go to Streetsavvydogrescue .org and be sure to text 971-303-9415 once you've applied. #stteetsavvydogrescuedoptabledogs #adoptmepets #streetsavvydogrescue #streetsavvydogrescuefosterprogram #adoptabledogs #rescuedoglove #streetsavvydogrescueadoptables #pingo #FurryFriends #adoptables #adoptme #adoptmenow #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #rescueanimals #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogsrock #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #adoptashelterpet #adoptadog #adoption #adopt

Story
Hi there! I'm Carter, and I'm a super sweet 9-year-old whippet who weighs 44 pounds! I'm on the lookout for my forever home because my current owner has to move, and sadly, I can't go with them. Even though I'm a bit older, I have great mobility! I can easily climb up and down stairs and jump in and out of the car like a champ. I'm pretty laid-back and love to explore around the house, but I also enjoy curling up in my cozy crate. I sleep in my crate at night, just in case there's not enough room on your bed for me! I'm used to being home alone for a standard 8-hour workday, so I won't be a bother while you're away. A fenced backyard to play in would be a dream come true! This transition has been confusing to me and has made me a bit nervous. I would probably do my best as the only dog in the house. I find cats, children and other dogs a bit unpredictable and don’t trust them until I get to know them well which could take some time. I'm house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained, and I'm a pro at car rides, too! Plus, I absolutely love going for walks, so I would be thrilled if my new owner could take me out for some adventures. I might be a little shy when I meet new people, but with lots of love and reassurance, I'll warm up in no time! I promise, I'm one of the easiest-going boys you'll ever meet! I can't wait to find my new family and enjoy some nice quiet love and stability!

Story
"What did the cricket say to the squirrel??" How would we know?? Cricket's don't TALK!! Ok, now that we have broken the ice, let me tell you all about me :) I am a strong survivor. I came from the most DISMAL situation you can imagine.... born to an unwanted mother, sickly and sad, I was dumped with her as well as one of our sisters dead bodies, like we had no meaning in this world... BUT, LOVE WON OUT!!! I was seen by a kind woman who reached out to another kind woman who reached out to a rescuer in San Antonio- 5 hours away!!! AND we were SAVED! So how is that for a rags to riches story?? It is MY story. I am a happy girl now, I have come SO FAR from the scared, skinny, starving, mangy pup I was, but I haven't reached the finish line YET!! That's where you come in... I am ready for my forever family. We are going to be a little picky, if you don't mind. I prefer a home, with heat and ac, with food and with LOVE. Older kids would be great, I can still be a little nervous with new people (who can blame me?) and I would love another calm, confident dog to help me with my energy. So, if that sounds like your home, APPLY TO ADOPT ME!!! You will not only finish my story with a huge happy ending chapter, you will be encouraging all of the kind women who took the time and energy and love that was needed to get me safe and to wonderful families!!! ADOPT.... DON'T SHOP!!! OUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
