Meet MAYA (Softy) DOB 4/3/2019 Weight 38 lbs Adoption fee $259 (Adoption fee includes the spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Maya is looking for her soulmate. Someone like her that enjoys the peace of a quiet house, one that doesn’t entertain much and keeps to themselves and perhaps has some property or a large back yard where they can spend their days sun bathing or exploring nature together. Maya seeks a home where she doesn’t have to share her person with other animals or children and with a person that is hopelessly devoted to her as she will be to them. Maya had a previous injury to her pelvis and has a slight limp but that doesn't slow her down! She appreciates her walks in secluded settings, cuddling in a warm bed and most of all bear hugs and belly rubs from her favorite person! She will need slow introductions and will need some patience as she adjusts to her new life, but will be a loyal companion once she’s settled in. Take a chance on Maya and see what true love is! Our adoption process and application can be found at - https://www.sunnyskysshelter.org/our-adoption-process For other questions on our dogs/cats or shelter please send an email to info@sunnyskysshelter.org for information on a meet and greet as well as application procedures.

Story
Lucy is a very loving, affectionate, and attentive companion, without being needy. She lives for her “adventures” (walks, runs, hikes) and is always searching out bunny rabbits as well as any other scent left by all critters. At home she will lounge for a while, ask if it’s time for a walk and rest again if denied, then she’ll make her rounds in the yard and rest again until walk time; she wants to please her human. She is not food motivated, and so doesn’t beg, but is curious with all smells Lucy lived with a cat for a few months and, though she would chase and play, she never made an attempt to hurt the cat. Lucy loves to run and play. Lucy is very good on a leash and will listen to commands as well as being aware of the pace of her tethered human, she has on occasion darted after a squirrel so her human needs to be strong enough to hold her when she forgets her manners. Lucy had a tough life for the first 4 years so she will get defensive if a dog snaps at her. Her first priority at a dog park is to run and play with other dogs, but she will defend herself if a dog is aggressive towards her. She de-escalates when pulled out of a scuffle, and she’s tried to make friends again when it’s over. Lucy needs someone who will be attentive to her as well and can intervene if necessary, or just not take her to an off leash dog park. Lucy loves other dogs but is most at ease as an only dog in her forever home. If you think Lucy would be the perfect fit for your family please complete our adoption application. houstonk911rescue.org/adopt Lucy is located in Houston, Texas.

Story
Welcome Simba to CCPAL Rescue. Simba is a 5.5 month old Whippet/Husky/Shepherd is our best guess. Simba now weighs about 25 pounds and should weigh 30 to 35 pounds full grown. Simba should be a medium sized dog. Simba was in a home and someone was asked to watch him for a week while they were on vacation. The person never came back for Simba. He is good on a leash, good in a crate, good in a car and good with other dogs. He has beautiful blue eyes and wonky ears. They may stand upright at some point but right now they don’t. He is smart, affectionate and willing to take commands and do what you ask. He bonds deeply with his person even if he does like other people he really likes one person. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. His personality is very much like a shepherd with the loving nature or the Whippet. He would do best with someone that doesn’t work all day everyday away from home. He will need to finish up his training and he is very social so he would like to go places and be with his favorite human. He is getting his puppy vaccines and will be also getting neutered soon and will be ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. PLEASE DIRECT INQUIRIES AND APPLICATIONS FOR ADOPTABLE DOGS TO OUR FACEBOOK. WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS VIA EMAIL DUE TO LIMITED STAFF. OUR CONTACT IS THROUGH FACEBOOK MESSENGER. https://www.facebook.com/REDRescueEveryDog/ Meet Sweetie! Sweetie is a fun and loving girl who loves to spend time with people and playful kind dog companions. She is an active girl who is looking for a home with space to romp around. While she isn’t super heavy, she is on the taller side with her long legs. While with us she has done well with the other dogs she has met and with the cats she has met. She would also do well as an only dog. She crates well, and has been learning basic skills such as sit and wait. We are looking for a home for her that wants to put the bit of time in to make this young girl the amazing pup we know she can be! Sweeties adoption donation is $450 to help cover some of her costs including transport, spay, vaccines, vetting, and daily care. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Wa and possibly Oregon, no other out of state adoptions at this time. THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE IN POULSBO, WA. MEET AND GREETS WILL TAKE PLACE THERE AS WELL. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION: - Securely and visibly fenced yard - Sturdy/safe crate, due to the safety hazard wire crates will be not be accepted. December 2024:  Patty has moved to a foster home.  Her foster home reports that she is doing well and is such a happy girl! She is housetrained and is settling into a routine. She's very playful out in the yard and her foster dad's two greyhounds are happy to oblige, but I do need to separate her and one of the greyhounds at times as he can be a little rough with Patty (not that she minds) when he gets fired up. Patty's foster dad crates Patty when he leaves the house.  Behavior wise, if she gets bored she starts looking for things to get into. She's very curious and will find things to chew on or tear up. Her foster dad has been able to redirect her with an appropriate chew toy.  She listens if he tells her to leave something alone, but that doesn't stop her from trying again later. Giving Patty an extra run in the yard, when she starts looking for something to do, settles her down for a while afterwards. If you can tire Patty out a little, she does well and settles down for a nap while her foster dad works at his desk. Patty does well on leash, is eating well, sleeps through the night, and is a big snuggler. Stairs are no problem and her foster dad is teaching her the dog door. She jumps in and out of the car well now, and settles right down in back during rides. She would be happiest with a yard to run around in, or at least some very active people who could take her on several long walks every day. We don't know how she'd do as an only dog, but probably fine as long as she has people and toys to play with, and she gets enough exercise. Patty was a past Dog of the Month!!  Patty: May Dog of the Month - Greyhound Pets, Inc. (greyhoundpetsinc.org) Sponsored by Leopoldo Basañez, in memory of Bea Patty is looking for her own sponsor.  Could that be you?  More info:  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND?
