Story
Now that she’s settled into her foster home, life for 1-year-old Nyra couldn’t be nicer! At a fit 40 pounds, the sleek black beauty has been revealing more of her sweetness and calmness, thrives on her fosters’ attention in the form of cuddles and pets, and enjoys engaging with the three resident teens. While she gets along well with her two larger doggy foster friends, she’s particularly fond of her 65-pound male doggy foster friend, loves romping and playing with him, then settling down to relax and recharge her batteries. At ease when encountering new people, Nyra goes for 30-45 minute walks once a day, honing her leash skills the more walks she takes, and likes jerky treats, dental bones, dog biscuits and most dog toys. Motivated by food and love, she currently knows “sit,” “leave it” and “no,” and is almost fully crate and house-trained. With much still to learn and much love to share, Nyra now needs a nurturing home, perhaps with an easygoing canine companion already there, and patient adopters who will bolster her confidence, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Freckles puts the “f” into friendly! At 16 months of age, this 50-pound white and brown beauty, so sweet and so loyal, percolates with personality and spunk and thrives on the attention of her foster mom, returning it tenfold. She LOVES snuggling and cuddling with her, resting her head on her, rolling over for belly rubs and then prancing perkily about. The cutest, most comical of companions, Freckles also loves sleeping on her back with her tummy and her paws in the air! Extremely energetic, she especially enjoys playing tug-o-war, playing fetch with a ball, chewing on bones and going for walks, honing her leash skills more and more each day. And although she gets along well with dogs of all sizes, she’s still learning about boundaries and correctly reading their signals. Highly intelligent yet slightly independent, she’s motivated by food, toys and love, knows “come,” “sit” and “no,” is crate trained thanks to treats and almost fully house-trained. Now, for Freckles to thrive, she’s best suited to a loving home with experienced adopters who will patiently continue her socialization, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally and physically satisfied in exchange for a love like no other.    Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
