Story
Let’s welcome Dug to BTBPR!    This approximately 9 year old Chiweenie was saved from the life of living outside his whole life.    Here are some words from his foster:   Dug will be looking for a home to call his own soon!!  Dug is an absolute sweetheart and would love a family that is home most of the time. He is blind in his left eye and visual impairment in his right eye from cataracts, but doesn’t let that slow him down in the least. He loves to go outside and explore the backyard and can jump up and down from the couch on his own.  He is a huge fan of pup cups and has done great on car rides sitting on a blanket and wearing a seatbelt attached to his collar. He’s a dream on the leash and listens well when I call him to follow me.    We are working on crate training so that he is safe when I have to leave the house. He struggles with being in the crate if nobody is around and will bark and cry, but if someone is near he’s usually fine.    We use belly bands if he wants to wander around the house as he does sometimes mark. This behavior has improved but we occasionally still have to tell him no and redirect him outside. He also has some incontinence at night; however, I do let him sleep on my bed on top of washable incontinence mattress protector and a blanket. He doesn’t move position often at night and has so far only had accidents on the potty pad. He would also probably be ok sleeping in a crate next to the bed as long as he knows you are there but we haven’t tried that out yet because he’s so sweet and loves to snuggle at night.    He spends the majority of the day sitting next to me (and my other small dog) on the couch and I think he would do fine in a house with other animals as he is so chill and doesn’t initiate contact with my dogs. He is not a big fan of my new dog but she is young and super high energy, and he tolerates her sleeping next to him on the couch when she is calm.  He will growl at her if she gets too close to him while he is eating or trying to sleep but he has never tried to bite or nip. Dug also loves playing with small squeaker toys and enjoys butt scratches, belly rubs and snuggles. He has loved everyone he’s met so far and cuddled up to my husband the first time they met.    Dug would prefer a family that is home the majority of the time and is a sweet older gentleman that would make a great addition for anyone looking for a couch potato love bug that doesn’t need constant attention and is content to sit or lie next to you all day and night!!   Please fill out an application on our website so we can arrange a meet and greet followed by a home check. His adoption fee is $150 and will be applied to his medical bills. Dug is neutered, current on vaccines and microchipped. We are waiting for the results of his senior blood panel that was done at San Tan Animal Hospital on 1-7-25. February 5, 2025, 8:06 am

Story
Atlantis is a very handsome Chihuahua mix. If you are looking for a playful and loyal companion, he is the perfect boy for you! He is very smart and curious about the world around him. He would be the perfect companion for someone who is able to give him the time and attention he needs as he continues to grow. While he’s an indoor dog, he also needs a home with a safely fenced yard to run and play in with his family. He is not suited for apartment/condo/mobile home/town home living. If there are children in the home, it’s preferable that they’re over the age of 7 years as they have impulse control. Atlantis' adoption fee is $400. Here's what that includes: Neuter surgery Vaccinations, including Rabies Deworming Vet Check Microchip Maricopa County license Please contact Carrie On Rescue if you have any questions about Atlantis or if you would like an application for him: email: carrieonrescuers@hotmail.com text: (480) 603-7680.
