Story
Meet Mia! Mia came to us from a Metro Atlanta area county shelter after having been surrendered under unfortunate circumstances. Upon arrival, poor little Mia was pretty shut down and scared, but after lots of TLC in her foster home she came to learn to trust again and show us what an amazingly sweet and loving little girl she is! Four(ish) year old Mia (as of early 2025) is a tiny little girl, only weighing about 6 lbs. She gets along well with all of the other dogs and cats in her foster home but truly loves her selected special person more than anything else! We aren't entirely sure of Mia's background but it seems there may have been some neglect or mistreatment that has led her to be timid around new people and situations. She can also become a bit protective of her people. So Mia will do best in a quieter, adult only  home with an experienced dog owner. Interested in learning more about Mia? Meet Irving! Sweet little Irving was surrendered to RMG when his owner found themselves in some very unfortunate circumstances and unable to care for him.   Irving was a bit timid when he first arrived at his foster home but quickly learned that Foster Mom's lap was a pretty comfy spot to curl up and decompress after all the changes he had been through. He's been great with all of the other dogs and cats in his foster home and really enjoys making new dog friends - especially the girls! Irving is great on leash and loves going for a nice stroll on these lovely sunny days.  We aren't totally sure what the first few years of his life were like, but we are pretty certain a man (or men) was very unkind to him at some point because Irving does have a healthy fear of men. We are working on that in his foster home, but for now, Irving will need an all female home. Story
Gizmo is an older male around 14 to 13 years old. He was my mother‘s dog. She passed away. I took him in. He does have some abandonment issues. Possibly other trauma . He gets real attached to one person. once he’s attached to that one person. He doesn’t like anyone else around that person. He will do real well with a one person, that could give him as much time as possible . he is very sweet. He loves to play with small balls . He loves walks . He eats just about anything. I hope he finds his forever person.
