Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Guero (pronounced "where-o") is a 3 to 4 year old chihuahua mix who was surrendered to MCHS on 12/23/2024. His owner moved to town and couldn't find a place that would allow pets. We've been working with Guero since he came in as he's a pretty shy guy who wanted nothing to do with us at first. He's come a long way and now seems pretty happy and comfortable. He will be vet checked and neutered on March 13th and his fee is $150. Guero is still pretty shy with new people but we think he's ready to venture into a new home. He's looking for a somewhat quiet and calm, adult only home (teens are fine). He has done okay with other smaller dogs as long as they're respectful. We have no way of knowing how he'd do with cats. With patience and love, he has the potential to be a loving companion. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 13, 2025, 11:56 am
