Story
All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate). Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions. Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!   Little dog people, check out Darla! Darla also goes by Daisy Mae. She is a 2.5-year-old chihuahua mix weighing around 10 pounds.  As far as personality goes, she's very much your typical chihuahua! She is a lap dog. She adores people, cuddling, and attention. Darla walks well on a leash and really enjoys car rides! She is crate trained. She does well with pottying outside as long as she is taken out regularly and has a good, solid routine.  We are unsure of how Darla does with cats, but could test upon request.  She is dog tolerant but would really prefer to be your one and only! She's not overly energetic and gets the most enjoyment out of simply lounging on her dog bed and chewing on her toys.  This is the perfect dog for someone with a smaller home or that isn't extremely active, though still has the ability to play with and properly exercise a young adult dog.  If interested, please email Halee@ahhumanesociety.org or apply online at ahhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/. March 12, 2025, 10:20 am

Story
I adopted Blue in New York as a gift for my family. He is 3 months old and very sweet and cuddly. We are currently working on potty training. As much as we want to keep him we have had a major change in our lives and now need to relocate. We need to now rent and where we are going pets are not allowed. I would keep him in a heartbeat if we could. He is pure breed, very smart and will become a wonderful companion for any family.
