Now little Zak here may not photograph well but rest assured this tiny dude does not disappoint in person. He is small, cute and snuggly. His bicolor curly fur is so soft! He enjoys running and playing with other dogs or with you but is favorite thing is being held, snuggled and kissed while you tell him he's a super cute good boy!! Meet Maddie. She is a 4 - 5 year old Mini Poodle/Yorkie intentional cross weighing 11.5 pounds. She came to us from a local shelter where she was picked up as a stray. She was extremely stressed and desperately looking for her person. She was frantic when she first came into rescue. It was obvious that she was very confused about where she was and what had happened to her past life. After a few days Maddie started to calm down. She had been someone very much loved pet. She loves sleeping in bed, going for walks, LOVES the car, good with cats and is fine with other small non dominate dogs but really wants to be the center of her person's eye more than anything. She is house trained, crate trained. She loves to play ball and play with toys and is happy to meet everyone she sees. She is very eager to please and smart. She is a velcro dog. Maddie's best home would be as an only dog or one other dog that is passive but playful and is not demanding of the owner's attention. She wlll need a fenced area or yard that leads directly from the living area of the home where she can run and play and bask in the sun. Maddie will need to live with someone that is working from home and can have a dog in their work space, someone that works very part time (a few hours a day) or who is retired. Maddie has not been around children so a home without children would be best. She can live with another dog that doesn't mind at all sharing her person. Otherwise she will need to be an only dog. Star-Mar Rescue is a natural care provider. We feed a species appropriate, balanced, raw diet-- a true raw grind, frozen or freeze dried. Madddie is currently eating SmallBatch freeze dried food.We use no chemical "preventatives", minimally vaccinate and use no chemicals on our yards or in our homes (natural laundry detergent, no dryer sheets and natural cleaners). We believe in protection without harm. We adopt to people who are already following this level of care or who are eager to learn and commit. There is a 7 part video series called The Truth About Pet Cancer. Video 3 and 7 are missing and will be reloaded soon. It will help you to understand what we do and why we do it. The vets, nutritionists and researchers are the very top in their field. You can also scroll through the FB page and read some of the articles there. If this is not a practice that you are already following we will expect that you will have a lot of questions. We are happy to discuss this with you. We adopt within a 1.5 hour driving distance from Wooster, OH. This includes both the Cleveland and the Columbus area. We ask that you first come to visit the dog. We then do a home visit where we bring the dog to your home. After introducing Maddie to the home, yard and other animals, we will leave her there for about an hour and then pick her up and take her back to her foster home. If the adoption goes forward the adopters will come to the foster home to complete the adoption. We're found this to be the most respectful way to transition a dog. When they leave us they are going somewhere they have already been with someone they already know. These sweet boys Teddy (a 10 year old Yorkipoo) and Theo (a precious 11 year old toy poodle) are so sad. Their “mother” the only owner that they ever knew passed away and these boys were left desperately crying for her and waiting for her to come home to them. They are currently being fostered by a family member. They are such good boys. They are calm, like to sleep in their crate together, beg for treats, love everyone they meet. They both only weigh @6lbs and are potty trained and like to go outside but are happiest inside playing with toys and cuddling on the couch. And even though they are 10 and 11 they are healthy and have years of love to share with someone. They are both neutered and are up to date on their vaccinations. While they love everyone they meet, these boys want the love and stability that they deserve : A family of their very own that will love them and give them kisses, carry them around, take them for walks with their little sweaters on, spend the days watching the snow fall outside and cuddling up near the fireplace together. Teddy and Theo have been together since Theo was a puppy and Teddy took care of him as his little brother., so they need to be adopted together. Jan 2024: Waffles is still looking for that special home. She is now approx 3 years old and 14 lbs. Waffles MUST be an only pet, NO children, and a secure fenced yard. She needs to be with active adults who will play ball and walk her (you avoid other dogs and kids). You can not have dogs on the other side of the fence. Waffles is the most fun loving pup in a managed environment. The rescue knows what her triggers are and will ONLY process applications that fit the above paragraph. She is crate trained and house trained. Jan 2022: Waffles needs a patient loving home with NO CHILDREN; Maximum of two adults, PHYSICAL fenced in yard. She is a special kind of girl that deserves a chance to be happy and NEEDS SPECIFIC THINGS: if you are interested in her and have questions Please ask, we will explain. May 2021: Waffles was found behind the Waffle house and taken to the local vet. They searched for her owner for a month and then reached out to rescue. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped.
