Story
Nitro is a male tan Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix puppy. He is 10 weeks old (DOB 1/14/25) and he weighs about 2-3 pounds. Nitro has had two sets of puppy vaccines and deworming. His tail was already docked when surrendered at a couple of weeks old. This is sometimes done by breeders the day or so after they are born. Nitro is ready for adoption. Nitro is a puppy of Poppy, a beautiful black tan and silver Yorkie weighing about 8 lbs who was surrendered to a western Arkansas shelter from a breeder. Nitro is a playful active fellow. We suspect he will have the up ears like a Yorkie. Nitro and his litter mates were raised in an experienced foster home and socialized with adults, children and other dogs, so Nitro is very adaptable and loving. He has normal puppy training needs but is smart and ready to learn. The adopter will be responsible for completing the appropriate vaccinations and continuing the puppy on heartworm preventive. The adopter must spay the puppy by 6 months of age at their own expense and provide documentation to the rescue. Adoption fee is $350. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.

Pansy is a female black and tan Yorkie/Chihuahua mix. She is 1 year old and she weighs about 10 pounds. Pansy Is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Pansy is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Pansy is ready for adoption. In a word, Pansy is darling. She loves everyone, people and dogs and even the indoor cat. Pansy has more than earned her keep in her foster home, welcoming other fosters, making friends and making sure everyone has a playmate. She is potty trained and kennel trained, walks decently on a leash. Pansy loves to hop in a lap and give kisses for belly rubs. She has a couple of quirks…she is a nervous tinkler with new people, she does better meeting new people out of the kennel not in it, and she can scold dogs that are acting crazy (like a new dog that hollers or acts frantic). Lastly she is a puppy and chews so she needs a Nylabone or chew toy when kenneled and she needs to be kenneled with not supervised. She doesn’t chew inappropriately in her foster home because there is always someone to play with and Pansy would prefer a home with at least one playful doggie friend. Adoption fee is $300.
